There are a couple of manuals ones on the market. I have alwaysed used APE brand on my other bikes but haven't had to replace the tensioner on my 92. You should be able to find something if you search.

I was hoping to find an auto one but it seems they are as rare as hens teeth and by the sounds of things I think the manual ones are a better choice I just don't like mucking around with valve trains seen so many mates destroy engines lol

Use caution when using a manual CCT, if you adjust it wrong, a lot can go wrong, if not familiar with them.

http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Cam_cha...sioner_removal

The OEM does a fine job, you can disassemble and clean them, and/or order parts to rebuild them, or just order the whole CCT, as I have done.

Cam Chain Tensioners... hate 'em, fear 'em, always wondering when it'll fail.

If only I could find a motorcycle that doesn't have/need a Cam Chain Tensioner...

Oh, wait a minute:

(I still have my '05 EX250 and I still love it, but the VFR is soooo good in so many ways it's hard to put into words)

Why not both?

(Stumbled across this build while looking for some ideas on repairing the VFR I picked up from a buddy after an accident.)

I just got a 2007 and simply rebuilt mine. By rebuilt I mean took it off, took it apart, cleaned it in carb cleaner, applied a light film of lithium grease and reinstalled it. They are very simple and for the life of me I can't see why you need a new one unless you find damaged parts. New or rebuilt use Loctite Blue thread locker on the two bolts at installation.

I too suggest Partzilla. They have great pricing and prompt delivery.

I have both types on hand, and can assist. What year is your MC? Do you have pics of the electrical connectors?
