The New Guy

Hello, new member/ newish rider here (started July 2008). The 250R is my first bike and clearly one of the best buys I have ever made. I have always had an interest in motorcycles, but I was always too afraid to try them. A good part of that could be the doing of loving, but sometimes over-protective parents and a shaky self-esteem throughout high school. I always played it safe (I know, getting a little personal, lol). Thankfully, the last few years of my life have been some of my most cherished. I have broken many of my earlier fears and have learned to overcome them. You might have heard that "the only thing to fear is fear itself." I know, kind of cliché/campy, but there is nothing in the world that is more true. My little Ninjette signifies my independence from my own fears. When I ride, the only thing that I care about is riding. Fast, slow; it does not matter. I feel isolated and the same time and integral part of my surroundings. It's hard to describe it, but I'm sure most of you feel the same way. Anyways, I hope to continue riding for many years and learn as much as I can.

As for the bike:

2008 Ninja 250R- Kawi Green
Bridgestone BT-016 Tires
LP Flush Mount Turn Signals
Zartan's Exhaust Hanger (Removed Pass. Pegs)
Kawi Seat Cowl
LED Tailight
DYI Fender Elimination
Painted Stock Muffler (Black)

I'll have to take some pictures with my wife's Christmas present. Without her knowing of course, lol

Welcome, R2!

Glad you could finally make it. Sounds like the bike was just the ticket for helping you grow in many ways. Nothing wrong with overprotective parents... it's just that much more work one must do when they leave the nest.

Aloha!

Yeah, definitely nothing wrong with it. I love them to death and I am certainly a better person for them. You should have been there when I told them I was buying a bike, lol
