Another fun trip to Mt. Hamilton - Sunday, August 14th (Alex is out)

EDIT: Sorry folks. Something has come up. Wifey is on bedrest on doc's orders for the next few weeks (due next month), and I can't leave her alone with the little monster this long on Sunday. Please consider going without me anyway, it should be great weather and a fun ride!

--------------------------------------------------------

Hi all! We had a fun one last weekend, but that's no reason not to have another fun one this weekend. Heck, we might even remember some of the turns! To make this a little different, we can do it from North to South this time.

We can meet at the Starbucks on South Vasco Road in Livermore at 10 AM: (same place last weekend's finished up at)
Starbucks at Las Positas & Vasco - Livermore
223 South Vasco Road
Livermore, California 94550
925-371-0539
google maplink
and we will ride out of the parking lot at 10:30 AM. There is gas right in front of the *$, so make sure to come with a full tank. The route will take us all the way down Mines to the Junction, and we should be there by 11:30 - 11:45 at the latest for lunch. After lunch at the Junction we have 3 options, all of which are on the table.

Option 1: Those who want a bunch more miles can head east on Del Puerto out to Patterson. Del Puerto is a terrifically fun road! From there we can just double back west to the Junction, or some can head back via I-5 in Patterson if they are short of time.

Option 2: We can continue south on Mines from the Junction to head up Mt. Hamilton Road, which will take us down into San Jose on the other side. From there people can get right to 680 to head home.

Option 3: Folks always have the option to just turn back and head north on Mines, heading right back to Livermore.

There's no need to decide now, or even that morning; we can all decide what works for each of us while we're eating at the Junction. I hope a bunch of us can make it, I always enjoy these Mines group rides and it's a simply perfect road for our ninjettes. This weekend the weather looks to be in the high 70's low 80's and sunny, so it should be just about perfect all around.

My manager threw a hissy fit when I told him I needed the 14th off. It was supposed to be my first day at work

I told him that my bike had scheduled maintenance that day and there was nothing I could do to change the date. I didn't tell him that the scheduled maintenance was going to be 150 miles of tearin up asphault

Of course! It's *preventative* maintenance, making sure that the poor thing doesn't sit that long.

I have a ram mount if you want to borrow it. It'll either attach to your bars or to your mirror bolt on either side of your dash.

I might be up for this, I will have a better idea towards the end of the week. I'm waiting on a phone call to see if I will be hired to teach middle school kids in a few weeks. If i am hired, I might have to spend the coming 2 weeks prepping for school.

Heck, if I were spending *any* time with middle schoolers at some point in the future, I'd make sure to get in as much riding in as possible to clear my head prior.

Alright. Let me know when you'd like to meet up and try it out. It's best to get it mounted before the day of so you can figure out the best angle/position.

EDIT: Sorry folks. Something has come up. Wifey is on bedrest on doc's orders for the next few weeks (we're due next month), and I can't leave her alone with the little monster this long on Sunday. Please consider going without me anyway, it should be great weather and a fun ride!

(BTW: This is 250Solace/Andre, i switched back to my original screenname)

I won't be able to make it tomorrow, my video card and/or motherboard is fried on my desktop PC. I will have to go to Fry's tomorrow morning and try to get a new video card to figure out where the problem is. Luckily it wasn't my hard drive on the desktop... i would have lost a lot of data since i don't back up my desktop regularly :X

Will catch the next ride! (I'm never up past 10pm... been taking the computer apart and trying to isolate the problem since 7pm...) going to bed!

Just got back about 25mins ago from the ride. It was awesome if not a little on the warmer side. I think I enjoy the loop from quimby to livermore instead because by the time you get to livermore and need to go home, I feel like the freeway is a nice relaxing cruise home whereas quimby is a hell of a lot of work if you're worn out.

Sean recorded some video. Lets hope it comes out.
