tire treads - vs car vs...
Just picked up a nice 2007 with the K630 tires.
As I was looking around the tires, and looked at photos of new tires, I started wondering about the tread design.... front & back - vs a car or bike or .... How come these tires don't have any tread in the middle at all - more like a slick ? Just wondering, since a car has tread at the contact patch, along with the edges for cornering. Looked at our mountain bicycle in the garage, and we had swapped out the normal totally knobby tires for a street combo pair that had smooth in the very middle (street) and knobby on the edges (corner + dirt). |
