I want a helmet that has a integrated visor. It would also be useful for all the people that want one.

How's the ventilation? Does it seem like it would hold up in a hard crash?

I have the exo 1000 and the integrated visor is ok. When I got I thought wow this genius, but in all reality the tint on the one that comes with it barely helps. Def would need a darker one to block out a decent amount of sun. Also I wish it came down another maybe 1/4 inch.

It's also ECE rating. Which is better than the old Snell rating.

The new Snell rating is updated. They previously were being made "too hard".

Yeah. Because Snell wanted them to be stronger than they have too be. It resulted in a increase of weight.

Id be interested in find out if any more companies do this as well. I love my Exo-700 but after looking at the ones you mentioned, I cant say that Im very impressed with any of the designs. lol My jacket is neon green and since my bike is black I refuse to wear a dark helmet for visual reasons. If I got any of them it would have to be just a plain white one.
Maybe I can repaint one to a flat white when I repaint my bike the same color

Though, for the price, I'd consider getting the EXO-1000. I don't want green. I want neon colors. Hi-viz, yah know?!

Love my EXO-1000's integrated sun visor. It's started to flake on the edges though. I know you can replace it but I'll wait and see if it progresses and affects my vision.

i guess what im trying to say that wasnt properly communicated from the start is that i hate the integrated visors. the IS isnt really that much better than the exo. get a better (not to mention cheaper) helmet and put on sunglasses or a tinted visor. just my opinion.

I wear glasses and I ride at night, so no tinted face shields. I much appreciate the integrated sun visor.
My driver's license out-right says that I can't drive without my glasses. |

I have the Nolan N103 & have been very happy with it for 3 years.
Good ventilation , comfort & sturdy but the sun visor comes down a little low & rests on the bridge of my nose, like wearing ill fitting glasses, causes some soreness if the visor is used for long periods, also after 3 years the visor will drop down when going over bumps, maybe half a centimeter but just enough to be right in my line of sight. The chinstrap latch system is easy to operate & feels sturdy BUT another small point is that the straps have no "eyelet" which means the helmet can only be secured to my bike using a flex cable lock through the wheel. All small points to consider & points i will definitely consider in my next helmet purchase. Cheers |

Scorpion helmets are first rate, but there are cheaper alternatives with an integrated visor. This one is only $80 here.
I have a modular with the internal visor. I really like it a lot. I bought a 3/4 helmet when I first started riding, but it doesn't work well with a Ninja. Ninja's don't have functional windscreens so the 3/4 acts like a parachute. You need a aerodynamic shaped full face or modular helmet when you ride a Ninja. The modular has all the advantages of a full face helmet with the ease of use of a 3/4 helmet. Plus most, not all, modular helmets come with the internal visor.

Just because something is inexpensive doesn't mean that its junk or vice versa. Look at what happened to Simoncelli. He probably had the best gear available. Yet, his helmet still failed. Had it not failed, the outcome might have been different. There is no proof that a $500 helmet protects any better than a $39 helmet of the same style with the same approvals. The $39 helmet still has the same core protection, but the more expensive helmet may be better in other ways, such as comfort, durability and weight. @Nick, if you want a really cool helmet, check out the bluetooth models. But be forewarned that the "inexpensive" ones start out at about $200.

I don't really want to spend more that $200. I also don't really want a modular helmet.

Yeah, the bluetooth helmets are a bit over the edge.
I went to the local motorcycle shop and tried on a bunch of their helmets. Because I wear glasses, the full face ones were exceedingly difficult to put on. You have to pull your glasses off, put the helmet on, and then put the glasses back on. What a pain! With the modular, I just flip it up, put the helmet on and flip it down. Actually, if its hot, I usually wait till I'm moving a good bit before I flip it down. The only time I have to take off my glasses is when I take the helmet off (or else it pulls them off anyway). And like I said before, with the Ninja, you're going to need some kind of full face helmet - whether its fixed or modular (flipable). If you get a 3/4 or 1/2 helmet, I can almost guarantee that you wont be happy with it and will want to buy a different one.
