Do you watch those Motovlog folks on the YouTube
Before getting a bike, I watched them for a while. Most of them I found to be boring, shock-value, annoying people with minimal charisma, but I'm a picky cynic with who I invest my time with (I like a solid 99% of you guys though, and I wouldn't say I hate anybody on here )
But every once in a while, we see a kid opening up a thread on here about how he's starting a motovlog and that's what got him into bikes and all that. I've always assumed that those people were barking up the wrong tree and that these Ninjette folks don't really care much about that part of the motorcycling universe. But I remembered how everyone banded together and really talked about M13's crash and cared for him, and I thought that was really cool and got me wondering again. So, other than a certain self-proclaimed hero who you might watch for cringe-value from time to time , do you watch these channels? |

I'll watch one or two, but if its just ranting about something, complainning about drivers, or generally being an asshat, no.
Lately, motovloggers I watch are blancolirio, laurie jennifer, and a smattering of others that don't post often.

I watched a bunch. Had hangouts with a bunch of them as well. After a while it's just talking crap. I would probably only watch RNickeyMouse for the crashes.

RoyalJordanian, RidingWithTom
For RJ, watch any one of his observation videos. For RWT, watch his McDonald's Drive Thru S1000RR.

I don't watch them often but I usually watch a few here and there
put nope because I haven't watched anything this season from anyone jake(thegardensnake), ridingwithtom, lj(the friendly hooligan), and M13 are my favorites M13 was an inspiration to begin riding and will always be my favorite motovloger even though his videos have fallen off. Honestly I'm just glad M13 is still around after that crash of his. He was also a large inspiration to start on a 250 rather than a bigger bike, he made a video that killed every argument I had for starting on a 600 oh, and I guess Marcel Irnie counts towards this, love his content

I watch most of RoyalJordanian's videos and all of M13's. I very occasionally watch some other vloggers when I'm looking a random motorcycle clips (this happens to me a lot!).
As with Sirref, M13 has been an inspiration to me and played a big part in why I started riding. I love seeing Taiwan through his eyes, I love seeing someone who is very true to themselves interacting with the world and I love watching him ride (both scooters and motorcycles). RoyalJordanian: he doesn't talk much in his videos. He lets his bikes provide the audio track. That guy is an artist! Seeing him ride through London makes me think of this Bruce Lee quote: Quote:

The very few bits of vlogs that I've seen have given me absolutely no desire to watch any more. I don't want to just be someone's helmet cam as they're riding around, and I don't generally care about the random crap most people blog about, much less when they record themselves saying it rather than typing it, and recording it while you're on a bike doesn't change that.
I'm sure I could get some enjoyment out of some people's good vlog postings, but usually I'm annoyed a minute into it, and then look down to see it's a 30 minute video. Click.

The only rider-produced YouTube videos that are worth a damn IMHO are the ones that are actually informative. Riding technique, maintenance, etc.

RoyalJordanian is in London and typically doesn't talk much. Just posts cool clips from his daily rides of expensive cars, interesting landmarks, etc.
He also does bike reviews. It seems like he test rides a different bike every week and gives his thoughts on them. It's what keeps his channel interesting and fresh. Snowcat just bitches about traffic, people running red lights and doing stupid crap on the road. A kindred spirit....he thinks the same way I do, so I watch.

One guy I used to watch is Suburban Delinquent because he used to actually go to cool places but I guess he hit saturation. I really like his Slab City video. Always wanted to visit there.

SCHAAF all the way. The only guy I watch consistently. Great drving. Excellent landscapes. Pleasing sound. There have been many days where I just marathon his videos in the background.
