Ninja 300 US MSRP history?

Kawi no longer has the "view previous year model" link and it never worked with all years /models anyway, so I want to make a record of the MSRPs here.

As I recall, the CA bikes have no MSRP, so lets just assume that it always cost at least as much as the standard 49-state models.

2013
Standard $4,799
Special Edition $4,999
ABS Special Edition $5,499

2014
Standard $4,999
Special Edition $5,199
ABS $5,299
ABS Special Edition $5,499

Source: Is this correct?
http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/20...nja/prices/05/
Says "N/A" for "destination" fees

2015
ABS $5,299 + $1,000 "destination charge" junk fee
Special Edition $5,199 + $1,000 "destination charge" junk fee

Edit:
Pastebin of my documented and sourced MSRP history so far including older Ninjettes. Some of those pages were very hard to find links to thanks to Kawasaki's "Sport" page not working on WayBackMachine, so I figure they should be documented somewhere.

Whoa! What's up this $1K destination charge thingy on the 2015s?

2013
Standard - $4799
SE Non-ABS - $4999
SE ABS - $5499

If I remember correctly...can't remember if there was destination charge on it but it may have been $300.

Thanks. IDK about that destination charge, but I'd tell a dealer that they are crazy if they think I am paying that.

If anyone can find links to Kawi's old product pages, those would be awesome. Thanks!

It looks like the old pages are gone with the site redesign. I didn't check everything, but at least some of them are saved in the Wayback Machine.

2014 300
2014 300 SE
2014 300 ABS
2014 300 ABS SE

Maybe someone else can pull other URLs out of their browser/address history...

Just an update: That "Destination Charge" has dropped to $345, and that doesn't seem to be an adjustment for their cheaper bikes: Even their $50K Ninja H2R says $345!

That must have been a big mistake when they had it listed as $1,000. I wonder what they were thinking?

forget MSRP for 2015. Kawa now has the oldest bike with the higher price from Honda and the new R3.

The R3 MSRP is $4999, which will pressure Kawa dealers. Although to be fair, Yamaha for some stupid reason took ABS off of North American market bikes. This makes then the only 300ish bike without ABS option.

shipping from japan for my bike cost my dealer just over $275 if i remember right. i think the guy said it takes them about a month to arrive after they order them. the $1000 "destination fee" covers unpacking from the crate, filling with fluids, attaching things like mirrors, battery. typically new bike setup will take a mech about an hour to do with maybe $50 in parts cost. the rest is negotiation room for the dealer so they can make more money on suckers.

When the same dealer also sells Yamaha and Honda and they find out you aren't willing to pay more than the Kawi's competition, they will simply steer you to the Kawi's competition. It is higher margin for them than cutting into the Kawi's MSRP to match.

Most every other product has the cost of shipping and distribution/transportation included in the retail price. I asked a dealer to just give it to me in the crate and they agreed but when I got there they told me there was a miscommunication and I owed them $200 for setup. I drove five states for that bike, so they knew they had me over a barrel there.

Oh! And these ship from Thailand, BTW.

Last time i checked a container was about $4k from...someplace in China to Long Beach CA.
CA to ? AZ is not much less than CA to NY or FL. The money is spent on the final drop. It costs the dealer as much to bring the bike 75 miles as it does for Kawi to ship it 7500 miles.

Sure, but who pays MSRP anyway?
