Question Bike lost power this morning

Hey all, been a long time since my last post. Hope everyone is doing well.

This morning I was all geared up and I took my baby out of the garage only to find someone had blocked me in. After maneuvering the bike to have a clear path I turned the key to on. The oil light, N light, and the high beam light all lit. They stayed on just as long as it took me to reach over to ignition/start button - before I pressed it I heard a zzzrt sound and no more power. Turning key off and on did not help. I rode her every day last week except Saturday and Sunday without any issues.

One note; during my maneuvering I used the kickstand as a pivot to slowly turn the bike to face the other direction. I realized that I would not make the full torn so I stopped and started moving her normally. Not sure if this had anything to do with-it but thought I would throw it in there. Maybe the movement or jerking during turn.

I looked up similar threads and checked some info. I took battery out and connected it to my battery tender. Within a min it went to standby / storage mode. So don't think the battery is weak but I am leaving it on till morning. I checked the 30A fuse and that looked ok. Looked at the solenoid thing and not sure how to check if that thing is bad. Not sure what else to check. A friend said I should have a spare 30A fuse but I could not find it.

It may be time for a new battery:

To test the solenoid, take a screwdriver and touch the two top terminals, this bypasses the solenoid, just be ready for some sparks and make sure the bike is in neutra.

If it turns over odds are it's the solenoid, if nothing happens then it's a connection problem between the battery and starter, check all connections.

The spare fuses which there should be a 10 & 30 amp inside the fuse box, if not make sure you replace them. Personally I care a few in my toolkit as well.

Happened to me just now, all indicating lights on, pressed starter button, loud "CLICK", no crank, indicating lights off.

Oh well, after having the bike for 5 years and leaving her covered outdoors through 4 winters I guess the battery does need to be retired.

Oh well, riding the ZX-6R then. What a pain.
