Hello from the most isolated city in the world!

Hi Everyone,
I'm Leo (19, M) from Perth Australia.
A couple of days ago I bought a US$300 ex-stolen 2010 Ninja 250R that was mechanically 100/100 and cosmetically 0/100.
That is fine though, because I have crazy plans for it. I am planning a trip up into the Kimberly with my girlfriend in a DIY campervan. Whilst doing so I realized one of the surf spots would be a 3 kilometer walk. Easy right? Just buy a dirtbike. Well a reliable one will be US$1000 and lets just say I enjoy building things and I am not exploding with cash. So I looked for something that would suit me.
Then I saw a ninja for sale. It was claimed to be unable to start etc etc. I thought what better than Kawasaki reliability to get me there. Bought it. Hotwired it. Rode it. Its a ball of fun.
I need to make it Australian Outback ready, and thats why I am here. Hopefully some people are still interested in this bike and I can absorb some knowledge.
So G'day! Get ready for lots of crazy posts!

Greetings & Salutations!!!

Click on "User CP" at top menu. Then "Edit Signature" on left.

Are you going to put dirt tyres on your Ninja?

Alice Springs is way more isolated than Perth.

It is actually not! It is close to Adelaide and the Eastern cities. Search "most isolated city in the world" on Google! Don't take away our only pride haha

Not too often, but can be done. I put some on this past winter to run on some dirt frontage-roads on commute home from SF. Just flat stuff, so no need to modify suspension.

Oh nice, how did the bike do on the looser roads?

Lots of fun!!! Slightly heavier than I'd like from dirt-bike, but definitely easier to control than 2T bike. Especially once I put dirt tyres on.

As for dirt bike tires on a Ninja, we did my sons Pregen about 3 years ago. He's still riding it and loving it.

So far I think just mild stuff, gravel roads, fire trails, grass fields.
