'08-12 Hotbodies Tail mounting?

Hey how do you guys have your racing tail sections secured? Are you just using bolts at the lower L/R corners? I'm sorta thinking of adding nutplates so I can put in a couple bolts upwards into the tail where the 4 holes are that would hold the inner fender to the frame using the stock parts.

I zip tied mine where the fender mounted, and bolted the two lower holes. Albeit I had plastics from south america that were trash and didn't line up at all.

On most of my bikes with cheap race fairings, (Hotbodies, Motofairings Inc from Peru, Catalyst, etc) I usually form something up by hand using aluminum flat stock. Then mark hole locations, drill and tap. Most of these cheapies don't have secondary mounts in back, and if they do, they aren't even close to lining up. Aluminum flat stock, a vice and a rubber hammer is always my friend.

Not Ninjette-specific, but zipties are the way to go in general. I have as many zipties holding my R6 race bodywork on as bolts. My tail is entirely ziptied. The undersplash has Dzus, mostly because the battery charger lead is tucked in there.

The big advantages:

- They don't get loose
- They allow for simpler mounting, because you can ziptie to anything convenient.
- You have countless spares available, so you need not worry about losing or mangling one.

I don't remember having an issue. I did have to use rubber insulators as shims under the rear rails
