Got the cowl a day early. Going to a meetup tonight and see if they can show me to fix the gap. Here's a pic

I will admit, i ended up walking back into the place and asking if it were meant to be so... sparkly... it was weird to say the least, but it works. Im sure once it dirties up I wont be so worried. x-)

It is a bit sparkly. Im not sure why though, but it grew on me so it looks nice. Ill try and see monday if I can get a good picture of what I mean.

And what do you mean Heed? Make white bikes still?

As for the bike, I ordered some pazzo levers today. I saw the 2wheels at a meet up, I liked them, but the more I thought about it the red was too off for my liking, and Im very big on looks. Now im just debating on what kind of grips to get. Any ideas?

The reason your cowl is "sparkly" is because you got an 09 model. All 09's have the diablo black which has a flake in it. Even my SE has it on the black areas. Just thought I'd point that out for you.

I just put Ariete Race Replica grips on, they look great and really comfy! You should get them and do the zip-tie mod while you're at it. Makes the throttle body a bit wider where the push/pull cables attach so there's less throw in the throttle. Essentially a bit more acceleration for cheap!

Hey max, those grips do look good. Mind me asking how much they ran you? I can see Dude certainly is enjoying them lol.

I looked up the ziptie mod now, I think that will be one of my next mods. I want to shimm my needles though first. I just havnt built up the guts to do so, and im waiting till after my 600 mile check up, so if there is any problems they cant blame it on me lol. But thats a great suggestion, thanks. A little more throttle responce would be great x-)

Over the weekend at the So Cal Tech Day I did the throttle mod, only I used (or rather Kevin2109 basically did for me..) PVC pipe. It's about the thickness of 2 zipties so it has even less throw and I love it! Scour the web and see if you can do that instead, but the zip tie way works as well.

As far as price of the grips I don't entirely remember but I got them from amazon for less than $30 I think. Maybe even $15?

EDIT: here ya go! $22

they make flexible pvc pipe? and those are a good price! I see you have clip ons though, do you think they'd fit stock handle bars?

Flexible?

You definitely just cut the size pipe you need, cut a slot in the circle for the throttle cables to pass through, glue the pipe to the body, and then dremel it down so its not too thick on there. I have a picture on my phone but I am lazzzzzzzzzzzy. Maybe i'll get them off tomorrow.

and those grips will probably fit better on stock bars than they did on my clip-ons though they did fit well on the clip-ons.

...my phone is failing horribly... after 2 hours of trying to sync my pictures here I am...a failure, using email.

Like I said, get PVC pipe (don't ask me the size, Kevin2109 did this mod for me and deserves ALL credit.) Cut a piece that fits the end of the throttle body leaving space for the cables to go in, as pictured. Super glue it down once you're sure you have the right fit. Dremel that mofo down because stock pipe thickness is just way too much (again, look at the picture) make sure all the edges are smooth and then put it back in. yay!

I also want some opinions. I was going to get a red chain, but after looking at probolts it looks like I can get some red bolts for here (the bolt im pointing at)

Just wondering what would you guys think of those bolts instead of red chain?

The red bolts would look awesome!

send Kevin2109 a pm and ask how he does it. I absolutely raped and pillaged my bar ends trying to get them off.....he walked over with a f-ing power drill or something and took them off in 5 seconds.

i hate that guy...

Lol. I didnt try a power tool. I'll try that when I get my bike back. Brought it up just now for the 600 mile service. I figure since its raining I wont be going out today, so I'll just install the grips when I get it back.

We landed up having to take off the screw head for the side I had raped so you need to be careful. MAKE SURE you use a #3 phillips head!!!

You get a new screw! But my screw head came off BECAUSE i messed up and torches/impact drivers/power tools were not working, they ended up stripping the hell out of the bolt until there was nothing to grab. THEN we (actually KCJohnson, who is the greatest guy ever) took the bolt head off. Yours should just come right off and be able to go right back on, unless you run in to similar problems.

I ran into simular problems. :-\ My right side came off with the impact driver, but since I fidled with my left side before any research, it ended up becoming extremely stripped with the impact driver. I drilled the head off, will be buying some good vice grips to get the rest of the screw off.

I did get the grips on though. Glued them before I left to work so they'd be dry by the time I get home. They look good, Ill post pictures once I get my bar ends back on. x-)

I see what you mean. They did get dirty, but not too bad I guess. Anywho, rearsets coming in, they're actually the black x red ones, which I personally thought looked nice as well, since the red wasnt in stock. Also got some new red bar ends on order, since I couldnt find any damn screws long enough around town today at autozone, home depot, or lows. I think the red bar ends will look nice so all is good.

Yeah red bar ends look good. I actually considered buying that red/black set that you just bought but after talking to Kevin we're going to take his apart and mine apart and make one of our own, saves a pretty penny!

Red pazzo levers black adjustment coming in. Red bar ends coming in. red front brake oil cap.

All thats left:

Red passenger foot pegs and possibly a black db windscreen. Then Im done.

Rearsets were a pain in the ass on the brake side.
