Finally Sold The Ninjette

I finally did it. The ninjette is gone. I had it for 5 years and it had 19666 mi when its new owner picked it up. I looked at the Fz07 and Fz 09 but ended up with the Ninja 1000. I found a brand new 2012 left over. Now all thats left to do is wait for the weather to turn.

Are you crazy a Ninja 1000 is like 4 times as big. You'll be so slow in the corners now.

Congrats on the new bike; time to update that profile! I'd imagine they were able to offer a screaming deal on a bike sitting around for 6 years. Warranty still starts from date of purchase, right?

The weight difference is taking some getting used to. I'm not an ego guy so I could care less about corner speed. If the 650's looked better I would have considered them. But on this forum Jiggles is my hero so I had to get the 1000 right?

Unfortunately there is no warranty as the dealership was closing. I am quite confident in my research that these bikes don't have many problems at all. I do all my own work on my bike anyway. As for the deal, I feel like the Cali guys are getting better deals on left over 16's but these was also a small dealer. I did get the bike under kbb value and it really is brand new. In the end I don't have many choices near me. If i didn't get this bike the next one was about a 2 hour drive. And what really surprised me is that I couldn't find any used ones for sale in my area. Either way so far I'm pleased with it.

I would think it would still have some sort of factory warranty and any factory authorized dealer could work on it if needed.

It shouldn't matter where it was purchased.

Congrats on the new bike!

That Ninja 1000 is a do-it-all bike, I've looked at many of them (brand new, old models) sitting in the showroom floor with amazingly low price tags, I think eventually I may end up with one of them. Congrats.

Congrats! I've got my eye on a N1k too. How big was your insurance bump?

I'm still in the break period but I'm very happy with my purchase. Just as comfy as the 250 but with a crazy amount of power.

I'm with State farm. The 250 was like mid $200 a year. The 1000 is just over $600 a year.

I was playing around with the numbers, and I couldn't get it below $3k a year for a new model, and $2K for an older one! California.

Congrats! That is a perfect do it all bike. You should take it for a 500 mile trip when the weather permits.

Or Geico?

Once I was over 25 and married, my insurance dropped to 20% of previous costs.

I feel I have a pretty good rate after browsing the insurance thread on the ninja1000 forum. I'm sure I could change some things to lower it too. I have low deductables and full coverage.
