2009 ninja 250 streetfighter
Looks pretty decent at a distance. Up close you can see all the stuff that needs to be finished and cleaned up.
From : To this: I bought it so I had a bike to ride while I rebuilt my ex500 but man I am loving the 250. So I have no excuse to not rebuild the ex500 like I want to Bob |

Looks really good.
How did you mod the front end and did you use the stock gauges? |

Cheap aluminum water bottle on the right hand side below the radiator. Just did 1 holes in the cap to push the hose into, angle cut the end of the hose and pushed it to the bottom so it could regulate level easily. 2nd hole is to allow air in / out to prevent pressure issues. Made that mistake on last bike

Sorry, I sold the bike about 6 months ago so I could buy a Buell XB9s. I found one for the price I wanted to pay so I had to snap it up.
The build thread at customfighters has a bit of info. In general though, the headlight assembly has 4 mounting points. If you get 4 clamps from mcmaster part #3177T58 you can use those to mount the headlight to the for tubes. The lower two will basically mount to L brackets right to the mounting tabs. The top two will need longer brackets bent from aluminum to push the headlight forward a bit to level out the beam. I used a gz250 speedo, as it tucked in behind the wind screen easily. My front fairing was already cracked so cutting it up was no real concern. I just eyeballed it, masking taped it off to make sure it looked right, then skillsaw. The fairing has mounting points that connect to the headlight so it all bolts together without any real issues. I didn't use the stock speedo dash thing. It was too big to fit in there. Side fairings were cut and glued together with abs cement. Make sure you get down to bare plastic before applying abs cement. It will patch / fill holes, bond pieces, and even mold new pieces if you make a quick mold. The stuff is abs melted in a solvent so it works really well. I'll try to check back in a little more frequently. Bob |

Thanks for the quick tips, the bike you had was amazing and I was really interested in knowing how you did the headlight. That part site looks awesome thanks again.
