Question about throttle
Oops! Just noticed I put this in the wrong year's section. Sorry. Still should apply to all years, though.
My 2001 Ninja that I just bought had the rubber grip on the throttle slipping fairly freely on the throttle sleeve. I could squeeze it and turn the throttle ok. The throttle sleeve returned fine under the spring action. I did something that was probably stupid. I tried to squirt some super glue between the rubber grip and the throttle sleeve. I must have gotten some under the throttle sleeve. I can still turn it pretty easily, but it is glued just enough that it does not snap back on its own. Any suggestions for freeing that back up? Throttle control is a dangerous thing when not working as planned by the manufacturer.
If you post some pictures, we could help you install it properly.

I got it all taken apart today and cleaned up. That bar end bolt was a bugger to get off. Heat didn't work. Drilling didn't work. I finally used a dremel and about 2 hours to grind the head off enough to get the weight off. Then used vice grips to get the bolt out. Throttle works as it should now.

Good to hear you got it all worked out. Those bolts are a pain. I needed a torch and impact.
