I'm Back

It has been a hectic few months. The Soup Kitchen that I run has kept me busy 40 hours+ a week. A friend bought a Ninja and had Belmont Motorcycle Performance do its magic. The bike absolutely screams! It has new suspension, Area P Exhaust, and God knows what else. The bike is a rocket. BMP specializes in Kawa and has some very fast dragsters. He works on other bikes as well, and has just finished going over my NT 700V.

Hopefully I will be able to get out and ride---7000 miles is pathetic for a bike bought Nov. 2010. I put twice those miles on the Ninja in two years.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'll try to keep current. Am currently having a great time building a Cafe Racer out of a 73 Honda CB550K. I needed something to challenge my 70 year old brain.

Eric, Do you have any idea where I can get a spark plug wrench that will work on the two inside cylinders?

I have, in effect two bikes--both cosmetically challenged. I do have two complete engines--on is running, the other one needs a coil. The plan is to restore the 73 and make a Cafe out of the 74

Hello!

I am not on here much but I do look for you.

How is the shelter doing?

Does it slow down a bit in the summer?

I hope to help again soon.

You a good man!

I looked into the homeless shelter possibility and ran into two snags--one is that the NIMBYs are quick to organize, and I got calls about bringing rif raff to Belfast. The second snag is that it would cost 1.5 Million---state fire regs--sprinkler system, staffing, etc.

We are organizing several local churches behind this--so it may happen.

The Soup Kitchen is running double its capacity. Where we were serving an average of 28 meals a day last year at this time, we are up to between 58 to 64 a day. We really had to accellerate our fund raising efforts because our expenses doubled. We have to buy most of our meat--at a reduced price, but paper products, condiments, etc. are on an increase. I did have to terminate one position in order to save money. It's a speed bump we will get over. Thanks for asking.
