Thunderhill Park in California - Monday June 22nd

I will be doing a track day at Thunderhill Park raceway near Willows in Norhern California. I will be bringing two of my 250s out to the track.

I invite all you 250 guys and gals out to ride with me. If you are interested in going racing we will be having an AFM New Racer School that way. If you take the school on a 250 you will get me as an instructor. I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing.

The weather is going to be beautiful so come on out!

I was going to head out there this week. I ended up doing more tuning.

Sorry you couldn't make it, you missed a great day. There was a nice breeze all day that kept it from getting too hot. The track was in great shape and everyone got in a ton of riding. Besides my bikes there were two other 250s out there. One was my student in the AFM New Racer School riding a stock 2008 model. Congratulations to him for passing and getting his Novice Racing License. The other bike was a very pumped/modified 250 that once belonged to Jim Race. I had a great time riding with both of them.

A couple of Turn 1 shots.

Hey Patrick,

The PTT calendar of events is here:
http://pacifictracktime.com/ti/ptt/events.html

The next Thunderhill event is Monday July 27th. PTT's policy is to offer the lowest prices possible to everyone so there are no "insider deals". Next weekend we will be at Reno/Fernley raceway. The deal is $99 a day if you sign up for both days.

PTT rocks. I've been to all of the local trackday providers, and they are definitely one of my favorites. "A" group at PTT can be terrifically fun to watch on the right days, as long as one doesn't mind realizing that with 50 years of practice and another 1000 trackdays I still won't be able to keep on the same lap as some of those folks.

"A" group in some of the other providers can be, well, a little more tame.

Alex, I'm glad you like Pacific Track Time. We work really hard to put on the best track days. I rarely ride other track days but have been told many times that our groups tend to have faster riders. With that in mind I have been working hard to keep our slower "C" group comfortable for new track riders.

Our fast "A" group is a blast to see. It is populated with many of the fastest riders in the country. One of our guys holds the current lap record at Thunderhill. He also likes to ride 150 MPH wheelies down the front straight while dragging his footpeg on the K-Wall. Fun to see.

I always invite all the 250s to come out and ride with me. Hopefully more of you will turn up at our future events.

Another photo from Monday at T-hill. Looks like turn 14.

Seen him do that a number of times, to the extent that it's no longer surprising. The pic that always makes me go is the one where he's riding 2-up, at speed and full-lean in a turn, with one hand all the way back on the passengers footpeg to bend it back down and help her get her foot back into place.

I've always been fond of this one, Mike doing the double elbow drag:

Why just drag a knee when you can drag an elbow, or two. The real "Elbowz".
