just at a K&N air fliter

so i just ordered a K&N air filter and been reading some threads on it.

i bought it with the intent of it helping with hp, throttle response, and more mpg.

though i been reading that to get any of that i would have to either shimming the carbs or get a re jetting kit.

though also i am planning on getting a slip on exhaust in the future and thinking i might desnorkel the air box.

what would be the best thing to do without having to spend to much more money? but if needed i will but would like to know if there are cheaper solutions rather to buying a dynojet stage 2 rejetting kit for $71 that i found on motorcycle superstore.

and do not buy slip on... there is almost no point in them... rather save for full system

have you tried shimming the needles?

i also just bought a K&N but havent installed it yet. worried about running lean/rich.

im planning on getting just a slip on. i dont really care for full system at this time. maybe ill change my mind later.
