haha...well i was smiling cause my mom said dont smile and it made me crack up haha

insurance people said that it is unlikely that i will win against the state...they said unless it was an area that has several complaints against it, they also said the state will argue that i was driving improperly for the road conditions...he said if it is something i want to persue it would have to be at my own expense bummer =(

insurance people gave me some prelimiary figures and tehy said its looking like around $2300 is what ill get...i have $1300 left on the bike so that iwll give me 1000 or so to put down on a new one...im just bummed i have to pay an extra 500 for an 09 haha

what? try to find a 08 at a dealer.
I know it will be hard, but won't hurt to try.
08's are still listed on the kawi website.

Ok update....here are the damages...and the road...pictures of the road dont really do it justice, but it really was bad believe me.

as far as the damages go...other than cosmetic...the only real damage is a bent handle bar and a broken rear set...i was unable to start it as i didnt have the key..im going back on monday to try and start it and see how it sounds...insurance is going to give roughly 2500 for it...i have 1300 left on my lone...i can buy the bike from insurance for roughly 750...im really thinking of just buying it back...buying the rearset and handle bar....found on for 66.00 and a rear set for 55.00...i can fix the cometics as i go...the exhaust is pretty scratched up but again im getting the area p in a while so i dont really care...rear master cylinder came loose...but it looks like i can just tighten it up and reattache the hose

what do you all think? i might just buy it back if it runs...plus the fairings will cover up most of the engine scratches....as i had them off and they werent involved in the crash

I guess if you inspect the insides, making sure nothing is loose, there are no leaks or and it runs fine, then sure. Also, if you don't mind the cosmetic damage.. looks like the scratches on your frame on the right and the passenger hanger will be showing all time.

if you can't find any parts through ebay or anything, www.cheapcycleparts.com is a good place to buy from also

So to even out the bike, I figure I'd share what it'd look like if you went down on the left side also with the fairing on..

it happens bro

oh my! so sorry. it always takes me awhile to open the accident threads. gotta muster up the courage. It looks like you will be in for some healing. I am so sorry that you are hurt and the bike is hurt also.

You must have the same ROAD MONKEYS working on your roads as we do. I swear the patch work is most always worse the the road originally was. Local DOT know me by name. GRRR I call and say WTfrick did you do that for???
I swear they hate us motorcyclist. And I just did what I never condone. I just Generalized a group of folks --- the DOT workers. I am sure somebody does good work out there just not in our county and apparently not yours. Get well soon and I say go after the road monkeys just to let them know that substandard patching is not acceptable. Anytime anyone see's that, they should call. Gak,.. I just fell off my soap box....

Get healed quick buddy!!

Thanks for the concern guys.

This was actually taken almost a year ago when I was a really new rider, so I've been alright since then. To be honest, I've had 3 low-sides since I had the bike; these pictures showing the worst damage the bike's ever taken. All happened while failing to negotiate a turn by basically coming in too hot and I admit fault.

Haha funny story is my last fall happened starting at a stop light making, a left.. I think my tires were cold + moist ground (due to mist) + oil slick because all I remember was being on the ground like "what happened???". This one hurt the most, but no serious injuries.

No worries though, my bike's now equipped with sliders, and rearsets. I'm just waiting for the front and left fairings in the mail to replace the cosmetics

Glad to hear you are okay and were wearing a helmet especially since a lot of guys out in Indy choose to go without. The last time I was out there my uncle showed up at my mom's house on his Harley without a helmet and rode home over a hour in the pouring rain. What a moron.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but great attitude dude. I got into a spill as a passenger a few years back and I had raspberries on my face, hand and legs, knees. And broke a middle finger. LOL Yea it was flipping bird daily for a while LOL

I hope you luck with getting back on the road safe!

Cheers
