What is this thing? Does? do?...

Tried to search for nipple has to do with oil? (ithink) why does it look tan (sediment) in the nipple, on the bottom-

austexjg thanks- should it be emptied, what happens to oil in there?

Yes, empty it and clean it out, it is okay if the color stain stays. The oil will just sit there.

Collects overflow from airbox...oh, what a memory....
I had an 883 sport and the overflow from the box was collected by my right pants leg.. This was and may still be HD's accepted way of venting....thru the airfilter onto your leg... No, nothing was wrong with the bike but it's one of those things that the HD guys don't talk about... wasn't too bad because the sport rarely went fast enough to blow it back onto the pants but there was always a lil' puddle on top of the engine...it was a great bike but you had to overlook a lot.
