[visordown.com] - Revised SV650S for 2014
The current SV650S Street SUZUKI is understood to have revised the SV650S for 2014. Sources say the imminent changes to the popular budget all-rounder are the reason Suzuki has not yet produced a restricted 47bhp version for A2 licence holders. The SV650S makes 71bhp as standard. There is a restricted version but it makes only 33bhp, the old limit for new licence holders, superseded by 47bhp in January. At £4,975 plus on-the-road charges, the model is priced to compete for new riders with Honda’s £5,095 CBR500R – or would be, if Suzuki supplied an up-to-date restrictor kit. The fact the firm has held off suggests the revisions are significant enough to rule-out the old and new versions sharing the same restrictor kit. The revised model is likely to be unveiled at the Milan bike show in November.
