Turn signal electrical question
I'm building a pregen cafe racer, and want to replace the dash indicator lights with LEDs, if possible. However, I see that the turn signal dash light is wired both side signals, so that it has no fixed pos/neg orientation, as is required for LEDs.
Does anyone have a workaround for this, other than switching to two indicators? |

There are a variety of ways to do it, but basically you have to separate the left and right side electrically. That requires some diodes and adding a ground to the bulb. There's already a ground wire or two in the harness behind the cluster, plus the wires from the left and right signal circuits are already there as well. Basically, cut the two wires at the bulb socket, solder a diode to each of the incoming wires, tie the output of the diodes together and connect to one of the bulb wires, then connect the other bulb wire to one of the ground wires in the vicinity.
