Clean air gone! Question though.

So removing the clean air system took care of crackling at lower rpms while decelerating. I have a CA bike so there were quite a few tubes involved with the clean air system.
I also took the time to tap the 2 carb vacuum tubes for syncing when I need to.

I have one question: from the dealer I got my bike and there was a loose hose, coming up from the middle of the heads, which seemed to fit over the fuel sending unit's outlet fairly well. Is it supposed to, or is the sender/tube supposed to be in open air?

Hey, I'm in CA also.
Does this mod affect emissions at all?
Cause you know...we got that smog thing for bikes coming in 2012.
