HID bulbs + Headlight modulator? Will it work?

Can I have a headlight modulator AND HID bulbs? Will the wiring interfere with each other? Can the bulbs handle the modulation, etc.... On one of my other threads someone said

Quote:
I wouldnt do a headlight modulator with the HID kit.. most bilevel HID kits go to highbeam by angling the bulb up a bit using a small motor.. repeated high/low/high might wear it out.. do one or the other.. JMO

well, the 250 doesn't have bilevel lights, it has a dedicated high and low beam (left light is low beam, right side high beam) so you dont have to worry about that. Also each bulb is a single filament bulb.
But I don't actually know about the HID setup with the modulator. It might interfere with the way the ballasts work, or the bulb itself.

i dont think a modulator would work with an HID system. As far as i know, each HID bulb needs a little time to warm up before coming to a full brightness. The modulation might interfere with it. And whenever an HID is initially started, it consumes a lot more current than when it is actually warmed up and been on for a while. I actually blown my headlight fuse twice when i forgot to turn off the high beam at start up.

Having electricity fluctuate to HID = BAD!!! Flickering HID = BAD!!

I would not do it, HID do not work lilke regular bulbs, it will decrease the life of the bulb and kill the system prematurely.

Yes and like hzrnbgy says they require some time to warm up so they would not be very noticable, and would probably not last very long.
