[visordown.com] - Combined MotoGP Qatar test times

ALEIX Espargaro finished the last pre-season test at the top of the time-sheets on-board his NGM Mobile Forward Racing 'Open' class Yamaha.

At the three-day Qatar test which did not include the two factory teams (nor the 'Open' class Ducati team), the Spaniard set a best lap time of 1:54.874 less than 0.2 seconds off Factory Yamaha Jorge Lorenzo's pole time that was set last year at the season opener in Qatar.

Pol Espargaro finished only 0.033 seconds behind his older brother Aleix, but unfortunately the younger Espargaro brother finished the three-day test in the medical centre after a crash at turn 6 which caused a collarbone fracture.

Britain's Bradley Smith finished in third 0.12 seconds behind his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rookie team-mate Pol Espargaro.

Despite both Honda riders crashing twice, Stefan Bradl and Alvaro Bautista finished in fourth and fifth respectively unhurt with LCR Honda's Bradl finished 0.045s ahead of Spain's Bautista.

It was Andrea Iannone who was the fastest Ducati on track in sixth 0.644 seconds off the pace with Energy T.I. Pramac Racing's Yonny Hernandez over a second off the pace of Aleix Espargaro.

Despite his team-mate topping the time-sheets, Colin Edwards finished in seventh just over a second slower than the leading Espargaro which Edwards puts down to a 'difference in riding style'.

Nicky Hayden on-board the Drive M7 Aspar 'Open' Honda RCV1000R finished in tenth 1.3 seconds off the front pace with Hiroshi Aoyama 0.733 seconds behind his team-mate Hayden.
