Hello guys,
Any of you have Chinese fairings on your bike and how do you like them? |

Just curious, what brand, or seller is it? is it a generic set, that is labeled as many different brands. ( or sevaral companies using the same mold type?) Reason I ask is that I see many aftermarket parts that look exactly the same, yet the names are different. Either by sticker, or simple engravings. Yet other than that, exactly identical. Even dimensionals, are often the same.
How was yours when it arrived? Any real issues you had to adress/fix/hide, before typical prep work prior to painting? |

Thanks Guys, I'm looking to buy from this company based in Australia called 12K Motor. They seem pretty honest and say that their fairings are basically the same as the other aftermarket injection molded fairings from China but they have their own painters.
Earlier, I was thinking of buying from Monster Fairings but they were a couple hundred dollars more than 12K Motors (also chinese fairings). The difference is that Monster Fairings would apply a superior paint application process like 12K Motor. I'll see though, and post pictures on here somehow. |

It went together pretty easily. I think A LOT of complaints about ill-fit has to do with user technique. I suspect these folks didn't install all bolts loosely first. But tightened all bolts as they went. Then last pieces end up out of alignment with no way to wiggle earlier pieces to make room. Most likely there's many factories cranking these things out. Middle-man then calls it whatever they want and re-sells it online. They all probably used original OEM bodywork to make master moulds, so they should be similar. This isn't exactly rocket-science and even backyard fabricator can hand-make one-off copies that have precise fit. I made some moulds to repair 1st-gen '86-87 fairings since my 2nd-set came hacked in half by some racer for unknown reasons. Will post pictures when that project is completed. |
