So if I get a danmoto exhaust, what do I need to do to the bike to keep it running properly? Does it make it run too rich? I in essence need to know if I can add the slip-on without too much issue.

Increasing exhaust flow means that the engine is flowing more air; thus creating a lean condition.

Even if you are only adding a slip-on, you will need to adjust the carb (shim needle for a slip-on, rejet for a full exhaust)

It depends on the bike if you need to adjust anything. My bike stock ran great. I pulled the spark plugs and saw no signs of too lean (white) or too rich (dark carbon). Looked just right. When I installed the exhaust, bike still ran very strong. No decrease in performance. You might not need to do anything to your bike.

Yeah mine runs fine as well. There is a popping/backfiring noise when decelerating after installing the slip-on, but removing the Kleen Air system should fix or minimize it. I will be removing it tomorrow, so I'll get back regarding it.

sorta.

larger jets if the bike doesn't pull as hard at WOT.
shim the needles if the midrange isn't smooth and strong because it's lean.

I found that my bike needed main jets that were one size larger than stock when I had slip-on and modded my intake lid (basically pulling the snorkel). The same was true for another guy with a newgen in my area (no snorkel, Yoshi slipon, aftermarket air filter, 100 mains, jet kit).

If you just pull the snorkle, or just add a slipon, the mains will be fine. If you do both, or both and an air filter, you need to test some main jets that are one size larger than stock.

making any changes to the jetting is "rejetting"

When you installed your exhaust, did use sealant between the coupling and header pipes and between the can and coupler? You might have a leak and it creates the popping sound.

I did not. And I have noticed a couple drops right when I turn the bike on, but nothing other than that.

Drops?

The way to check for exhaust leaks is to just run your hand and your ear around the joints and listen/feel for excess sound/air coming from the joints. No leaks = no problems.

If your worried about popping, check the exhaust for leaks, and remove the kleen system.

Yeah there are just like 1 or 2 drops of water, I guess, on the ground when I turn the bike on, but that's it. I'm going to remove the Kleen system tomorrow & shim the needles...don't have time today. Will grab some rtv sealant if there's still popping.

Well actually I just went and started it up and looked, there was a leak on the upper part (idl what you call it) where it connects to the stock pipe and a little mist spray, but once it got warmed up nothing else was leaking (guess it could have just evaporated, thus no leak)

In other news, got a video of my exhaust...it sucks because it's just with my phone, so it's at least 5x louder in person.

Link to original page on YouTube.

As long as it's not dark water drops. That would mean your bike is running too rich and excess carbon fuel is getting into the exhaust.

Just removed the Kleen system on my bike & shimmed the carbs with 2 washers each (not sure what size they were, but they fit nicely). It runs much smoother & the popping is reduced a whole lot, the remaining popping is most likely do to the exhaust leaks, as chrone mentioned. Got some rtv sealant for that.

So it's a toss up whether I need to do anything? I guess I'll find out if I do get a slip-on.

You definiately want to use the sealant. It'll make your slip on sound much better since the air flow will be what it was designed to flow. And no popping sound.
