Another CCT Post (This one HASNT been answered in previous posts)
Was removing and cleaning my CCT, when I went to put the middle bolt on (the small black one) it won't tighten properly, it'll get to being just snug and then if you try to tighten anymore it'll become loose again. So my question is, what is that bolt for? Is it basically just a "dust cover" for the CCT spring or does it actually do something. The reason why I'm asking is, if its just there to cover the hole up so nothing can get in it, I'll just throw some LOC-TITE on it and get it snug so it won't vibrate out. But if it actually serves a purpose other than covering the hole up I'm going to have to but a whole new CCT, if I can't find a matching bolt, which I'm sure I won't be able to.
Heres 2 pics to show what I'm speaking about |

Seems like it's just a cover to me. I sure couldn't figure out any other purpose for it, but wait for someone who actually knows for sure to chime in.
You can probably order just that bolt from an OEM parts supplier, but if the threads in the CCT are the culprit then you're stuck (if the loc-tite is a no go).

Yeah the threads on the CCT itself are screwed (no pun intended). Theres a small peice of the CCT thread in the black (African-American) bolts threads. I'm 90% sure its just to block anything from getting in though, as the inside of the CCT (the spring tensioned part) is in there, has a flat-head slit (where as the bolt is flat, no protruding slit) and is terminated well in-front where the bolt (the African-American one ) in question terminates. But I'd rather have a slight concensus than just nmmy dumbass.

Just to block the opening so nothing gets in and obstructs you from adjusting/cleaning the CCT. You can put some blue loctite on it for piece of mind if you want. I just tightened mine till it was snug and away I went.
Haven't had any problems (although I'm lazy and haven't checked under my right fairing where the CCT is..... |
