Didn't find out about it until I was already out riding this morning. But in Clifton they have a Bikes and Breakfast meet up every 2nd Sunday of the month.

http://www.bikesandbreakfast.com/

Couple hundred bikes in town, lots of old vintage bikes, fun time. Only saw one other Ninjette, a newer 300.

There are a lot of nice back roads around Clifton. I'll probably ride again next month and stop for breakfast.

We did have another nice stop this morning, apparently every Sunday a sports car club has a get together at Cameron's Chocolates and Coffee in Fairfax from 8-10 AM. (Cameron's is a charitable organization for adults with mental handicaps, they make great chocolates, baked goods and coffee) Will probably be stopping by there on future sundays as well.

Sunday mornings 8-10 am is a car club get together at Cameron's Coffee and Chocolate in Fairfax City. Some bikes have been showing up, then going for a short ride afterwards. Couple of fairly new riders, nothing long or difficult, run down to Mt Vernon, around Clifton, or out to the plains and Middleburg.

My daughter and I should be there on Sunday around 9.

Good coffee, breakfast and a good cause.

Maybe I'm blind tonight: is there an approx time for this gathering? The website is a bit short on info.

No you are not blind. There is now nothing on the website about a time.

It's usually 8-10 am.

Myself and a couple other guys usually go to Cameron's Coffee and Chocolates, http://every1canwork.com/ for the car club meet up, in Fairfax first, then ride over to Clifton and hang out for a while looking at bikes. Then depending upon what our wives have lined up for us we usually take a short ride.

Isn't there a group of Southeastern Virginia riders that get together for a meet/eat every month? It seems like I saw that somewhere but can't find it now. Thanks.

Looks like there is a Hampton Roads Sportbike club that does a breakfast ride every Saturday morning at 8 am.

I think the Tuesday night eat get-togethers is what I remember from before. Thanks for the calendar link.

Bikes and Breakfast again this Sunday.

Weather forecast is for partly cloudy and 66 degrees.

December riding doesn't get any better than that in this area.

Dominion Raceway was on a few track orgs' schedules last year, but they failed miserably at that whole 'finishing construction of the track' thing. On a more positive note, this video gives the impression that they're much further along. It's roughly the same distance from me as Summit Pt, but it's a straight shot down I95. Convenient.

Link to original page on YouTube.
Too bad they didn't opt for a whole lap onboard though. @2:11 for an entire corner of motorcycle action

I get the feeling Dominion will be around for sure this year and I'm very excited to begin riding there. I'm gonna be track only this summer, so the more tracks that close the better

TPM has us there 13 times this season so I'll probably do about 8-10 days there if all goes well (with one race on the schedule if it's open in April, which I'm thinking it will be)

No kidding. TPM really went all-in on the Dominion scheduling....which is great for me. I had the misfortune of heading that far south yesterday due to work. It's almost literally on 95. Seeing the main building while driving by was surprisingly exciting.

Between that and the 60+ weather forecast on saturday, I'm relatively pumped for the weekend.

So where are we riding tomorrow?

I was going to run out to Winchester to look at some bikes for my daughter, but just called the stealership and one is sold and the other is in a warehouse and hasn't been looked at by the service department yet.

Well shoot. By the time I saw your reply (already Saturday), I figured it was too late. I ended up doing a stretch of Skyline, then stopping in at Central Coffee to buy the best fresh roasted coffee I've encountered in the area (i'd welcome other recommendations!).
The stretch of 211 between Skyline and that roaster - the part that starts with a High Motorcycle Crash Zone warning sign - is quite enjoyable, though far less scenic and all too brief.

Sunday 9/11 there are 2 options to ride.

1. Rattle the Runway. Start at Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum at Dulles, Police escort ride to Pentagon 9/11 memorial.
