This must be a 'water-cooled' bike (not only the engine)

I must be the only person in the world who thinks this is stupid and boring.

Dirt bikes are unbelievably capable machines off road, putting this equipment on a dirt bike pretty much inhibits just about anything interesting you could do on a dirt bike off road.... for what? So you can go in straight lines on the water? .... sounds super exciting . If it wasn't for the beautiful scenery of the video it would be boring as hell, just going in straight lines on the water. You can't slow down, you can't stop, you can't jump, you can barely turn

congrats, you took an amazing off road machine and turned it into the worlds worst, and most boring jet ski JMO

/end rant

Joe, sometimes people do things just because they can. It don't always make sense and others may find it silly or pointless. It's cool and fun, which is the point of the whole matter.

ps... the guy did transition from land to water without a blink of an eye. This is something a jetski cannot do.

^ how long did they search for the perfect beach to actually do that and better yet how long did they wait for the perfect weather/wave conditions to actually make it work to where it was capable? How many bikes did they sink?

Like any video, the editors do their magic to make it look way cooler than it actually is. Like the video of him riding up the bob sled course and doing the ski jump ( I thought that was really cool by the way) but they put it together to make it look like it is one solid go, but he has different tires on for how many different shots, probably different bikes with different suspension setups as well.

In short, the video's give you an unrealistic glamorized impression of what is going on, this one in particular, there is nothing ground breaking or crazy IMO going on here. People can hydro skim dirt bikes with out all this stuff, it doesn't take a genius to figure out if you put some runners on a bike and a paddle tire that it is capable of this, just someone who is willing to waste the money.

Read this... http://xgames.espn.go.com/xgames/hom...surf-dirt-bike

The video is cool because he has done something that nobody else had done before. Yes it's been edited to make it seem even more badass but I'd have to say even if I saw an unedited video I'd still be impressed if I saw a dirt bike riding a massive wave.

It is ground breaking and crazy because it's never been done before. You can't hydro skim dirt bikes for miles at a time. If you asked DC Shoes if this was a waste of money they might disagree because they just reached 6.5 million people in one day.

There is a reason it has never been done before and skill, danger, technology, know how and cost were never the problem.
