That's a lot of blossoms! Hope the bees did their job pollinating them.

well, we did get a light frost just as the buds were blooming... but I don't think it hurt much on the trees.... this looks like it will be a record year for Apples !
the last 2 years we had a few handfuls of apples is all, but this looks like it will be a carpets year.... they will be so many that they will be in piles Rotting in the yard.... a frightful waste, but I can't possibly use all these apples !
I may well put up a sign... "Free Apples" pick at your own risk !
....
Apples seem to come in waves about 3 years ago we had a huge crop....
then 2 years of nothing and then with all these blossoms it will be a big one this year.... strange how that works....
.....
I think it's a warm enough day to go for a ride on the XR650L....
....now I wish I had bought that collapsible fishing pole and a fishing license's
....
....
Bob.......

Ahh it's not too bad.... raking them up is the big P.I.T.A. though....
if it gets too bad I'll rototiller them into the soil ! HA !
We have some Fruit eating birds that usually mob the place if we have alot of apples..... they will literally take a bite out of every apple ! but once they have aged just right they will eat the entire apple ! their Black birds with a gold line on their shoulders in the shape of a crescent..... I like seeing them, their a pirty bird !.... we feed all the birds here.... in fact they wait in the morning for us to get up ... they get insistent. even with all the cats we have around here...
but their smart.... not many fall prey to the cats....
.....
the Blue Jays are a Kick to watch.... they are top dog in the bird world and they won't take any guff from the other birds ! the mountain Jays have a crown and the scrub jays don't ... usually the scrub jays throw their weight around.... and the Mountain Jays try to squeeze in to the bird feeder....
the doves and pidgins Mob the feeders every morning and evening and we go through alot of bird seed !
Bob.....

LOL too late all the blossoms are gone now and the apples are about the size of large walnuts ! .... and of course the limbs are bending way down because of the weight.... I really should prune these trees but I am not sure how to go about it....
....Bob

I have this giant ficus tree in opposite corner of yard.

Link to original page on YouTube.

I have trim it in half every winter. Chop about 10-ft from each branch. I use chainsaw on stick and step-ladder.
