I can start the process on the undertail exhausts at any time. I only have half of the required funding at this time though. Going to try to get it rolling in January.
Sweet!

How much do you think the undertail exhaust will run? Can my bike be the "test dummy"??

We are talking a top flight exhaust in carbon fiber. I would gander at a $600ish range maybe a little less.

Waiting on the load notification from singapore. I apologize for the extra delay but you can't bribe US custom's. I also like not having a $5000 fine.

Yup, plus being this time of year, it may take longer too.

As for the undertail exhaust, I'd like to see one that includes a replacement undertail so that it could be mounted a bit higher into the tail section (more clearance from the tire), mesh with the shape of the can, and route the header more discretely. I dunno if that's really doable though.

I slapped them into submission. On the boat and on the way. 3 weeks behind the Original estimate. But finally on the way.

Nothing new its rocking on a boat somewhere in the pacific. Apparently it went to Singapore (the opposite direction ) first was unloaded and then reloaded onto another ship. I really won't have another update until arrival in Los Angeles. The perils of ocean freight. But at least I know where the product is.

I was going to do a group buy for undertail exhaust systems but thats going to be a hassle.

Any news yet... has it at least landed in LA? According to searates.com from Singapore to LA takes 24 days... you posted on the 29th that it was "on a boat sowhere in the Pacific" on Jan 29th, 24 days from then would have been yesterday. Not trying to be a pain, just getting impatient and would like to get the hugger. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Seriously, why is our bike the only one that we have to jump through hoops and go thru crazy processes to get huggers and nice parts? Any other bike you could just hop on motorcycle supply site and get what you want. You don't go to HotBodies or Vortex and order something, and have to wait six months and get fed every excuse under the sun. I just don't understand how a business keeps it's customers like that! I was going to get TWO huggers, but I aired on the side of caution due to stories. I am glad now.. And why don't these smaller vendors market to larger companies (like Parts Unlimited )that can get the product out and to the consumer. Then they wouldn't have to worry about logistics as much and could focus on production.

I had to laugh when it was posted that they were out on a ship in the middle of the ocean somewhere. I thought you guys paid enough for shipping, they should've been flown..

Well, consider yourself lucky to deal with Sportisi...Like some of us (including myself) ordered from Shito Racing (aka Shito Paul Kirk), wait 6+ months and may not get your order at all...you will get an email for some lame excuses if you're lucky.

Uhh... the difference is that Matt has never lied about what he has shipped or not and we knew what we were getting into all along (ocean freight). My only annoyance is that Matt can't just order a boat-load of the popular parts to stock up for the year, but we can't really expect that. Even if he had the money or got a loan, that's a huge risk: When hey prove popular enough, someone could make a local copy or alternative leaving him with unsold high-priced imports, so I can't blame him. I'm getting my parts cheap and I, for one, am happy with that.

I *do* wonder if Parts Unlimited would pay up-front for a ton of these huggers and undertails if Matt approached them. I mean, they expect bulk shipments to take a while and I'm sure they'd command a priority response from the Indonesian arm.

FWIW, you erred on something there... It should be "erred on the side of caution"

'08 is Candy Plasma Blue (requires an undercoat). You can tell even without a comparison because it has a white Ninja logo. It's gray on the '09 Candy Thunder Blue and the '10 Metallic Island Blue has an obvious black exhaust and is pretty different in other ways. That said, the color seems way off in that pic.
