No worries, I am very happy with my Area P exhaust. Kerry runs a great company. Shipping was super fast and this system is a great value at regular price (the dealer here tried to sell me a Full SS Yoshi exhaust for $900 ). Anyone currently looking for an ehaust should get in on this GB, you won't regret it! |

I have a couple of questions about the Area P exhausts if you don't mind, the second kind of plays off the answer of the first.
1) Do we have the option of getting an exhaust with the flat conical tip as opposed to the original one? 2) If we can get the conical tip, is there a quiet module that can be installed on it? I would prefer to have the shorter 12" exhaust for aesthetic reasons, but not at the expense of being obnoxiously loud. Or, if the sound isn't actually that bad, then even better. |

Pleasure. My personal taste: I like the long quiet core muffler. There is no down side. It's significantly quieter and produces the same power. That being said, both of my sons prefer the standard muffler, primarily because they like the shorter muffler style. They simply use discretion when required. They also use the D.E.I. from time to time with only the nozzle installed to take some of the edge off the higher frequency. Again, very subjective to each individual person's taste. When in doubt, I always recommend the long quiet core muffler.

Good Afternoon,
I'm really excited to see this GB pop up! After reading about the Area P exhausts and watching the racing exhaust GB (I need the rear pegs). One quick question, I commute to Irvine on a regular basis and I was wondering if it would be possible to have Area P install the exhaust (and perhaps tune the bike)? Thank you, Brian |

Thank you for the interest. We don't actually offer Dyno Tuning to the general public. We pretty much use it for our own R&D, the Magazines, OEM's and trailered-in Racebikes. Primarily the only exceptions we make are when we are doing R&D and/or prototyping of new systems on donor bikes. I can recommend two facilities (if you like) who do offer both installation and tuning services that are very good and I have been friends with the owners for a very long time. One in Van Nuys and the other in Huntington Beach. Quote:

Sorry, Levi... this GB is only for the newgens (+08). We tried one for the pregens and closed it due to insufficient numbers to generate the GB minimum. Shame, cause that was a hell of a deal and I don't think I can talk Kerry into repeating it in the future, based on the lack of pregen interest.

I am always hesitant to buy a muffler because of shimming requirements. I am not mechanically inclined and would like a muffler just for the sound and aesthetics. My bike is currently all stock. This is a "full system" exhaust. Does that mean I cannot just plug and play and ride away?

yes, you should rejet with a full system to gain maximum benefit. at minimum, shim the needles.
for that matter, you should rejet/shim for any slipon, as well. if sound and aesthetics are your priorities, go with a slipon... just seems like a waste of money to me, IMHO. |

Could you put me down for a 12" carbon fiber (that is the louder one right?), pretty please? I wont have the money till the next pay day on the 5th or 6th, that alright? Also, thank you for turning me on to this... right before I posted that earlier I was saying to my bud, id might get a full exhaust as long as im getting an air filter and jets, id just like a nice deal; you found me just at the right time!

*New* - As of 12/15/2010 - All systems now include Area P custom exhaust port gaskets at no extra charge. Area P designed gaskets feature additional "crush volume" for superior sealing.
So does this mean the port gaskets come with the exhaust when we order it, or do we still have to note that we want them and they come for free?

Good catch. The gaskets now come with each system, so no need to order/note them separately. I guess it's listed in case someone would want a set apart from purchasing a system.

Would have loved to get in on this, came at a bad time (July 7th was our 25th wedding Anniv. just shelled out for a Mexican Vac. and a ring) sure hope this GB comes around again, what does the conical tip look like? like the 4th and 5th ones in the first row?

I installed exhaust, removed airbox now have r0990 filter and crankcase filter, removed and plugged kleen air sys. Now i need to jet my carbs, i havent opened the box yet, but when i do i will beconfused/frustated. Anybody know the jet setup that would be ideal for my bike?
