Just had some Pilot Road 2s installed

110/70 front
150/70 rear

According to the mechanic I take my bike to normally, he said the 150/70 fits fine. A few weeks ago he installed the same tires, same sizes on another 250 and it worked out very well. So i've done about 50 miles on them so far and they're awesome. I haven't ridden very hard yet so haven't experienced the grip but i'm very excited to get it turned over.

The bike feels a little different. A disadvantage? I wouldn't think so. The bike doesn't sway as much as it did with the 130 on, and the ability to flick the bike takes a little more "oomph". But it's not like you have to lug the bike over to get it turned, you just end up having to put a slightly larger effort into steering than before.

Don't forget that it can take 100+ miles to get that tire slick removed. Don't lean into those turns to much yet!

Looks good! Personally I don't think I would get a 150 (unless their is a justified reason), but a 140 should do well.

How do these perform dry vs wet, etc?

The mechanic has had something like 40 years of experience with motorcycles and he told me he's gone up in sizes with bigger bikes and hasn't experienced any problems but going up from a 130 to something bigger on a 250 was new for him. So I guess we'll see soon. Although the larger tire raises the rear height a little, so you have to make adjustments to that.

call me crazy, but that profile looks really flat, which explains the sluggish turn in.

I've got a friend that swears by PR2s but since they don't come in a 150/60 I won't buy them. I know when I get the BT-016s in 150/60 they are a LOT rounder than that.

Can you remove the slick with a Simple Green scrubbin?
