Cruising RPM???
How many RPM is your engine running at when cruising @ 60 MPH in 6th gear? I feel like mine is somewhat high at 7,000, but I was just wondering what would be considered normal for this bike? Thanks for letting me know!

yup, 6000-8000 depending on a lot of factors is usually where you'll sit.

Did gear changes(front and rear) and slip-on exhaust on my bike.
At 60mph, it's 5700rpm |

I went pretty radical on my gearing : from stock 14/45 to 15/33. The reduced air drag allows the bike to function with this tall gearing. My bike turns 5900 RPMs at 70 mph.

Greenaero, maybe not the right thread for this, but how fast can your ninjette go? Can you top 100?

About 7k at 60. 7k isn't harmful at all. I regularly ride my pre-gen for hours on end at 9-11k on the freeway. Sometimes more when I hit the empty stretches and get a chance to open her up. 7k RPM for this motor isn't even close to coming to the limits. It's actually only half way there on the pre-gen. On my pre-gen at least 7k isn't even on the pipe. Power doesn't even begin coming on until 8k.

I wish mine was that low. I'm at 9-10K @60 mph in 6th. I'm pretty sure I have one of the defective ones.
