Ride on rain and now won't start
How it says in the tittle, I ran my bike the Saturday in a heavy rain and now my bike won't start, the battery is OK, the cranck too, the fuel gauge is on the 2nd line, I don't think could be a gas problem, I don't know where to start I was thinking If I dry the carbs and try to start
Somebody had that problem with his ninjette? |

if you have a spare spark plug, unplug one of the wires and plug the spare into it and lay it on a good grounding spot on the bike and crank it over and and see if you see a spark. careful not to get zapped your self it smarts a fair amount.

I would check the air filter to make sure that water did not get to it and is now clogged blocking sufficient air from getting to the engine. Also check your engine oil and make sure it doesn’t look milky.

Is the tank clean inside?
Can you see the screens on the petcock to confirm they look good? |

There are some photos in this section that show it - https://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Rebuil...tcock/fuel_tap
They are strainers that stop any large particles in the tank from continuing on to the carbs. Also check for this - https://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_do...fuel_filter%3F The small inline filter (about 1/2 way down on the page) that is inside the fuel line at the carb inlet. If either are restricted you won't get adequate fuel flow. |

direction of small in-line filter is important.
The open-end is aimed towards gas-tank. The closed pointy end is aimed towards carb. If you put it in backwards, it will get crumpled and inverted by flow. It will then block fuel flow |

Filter is probably coated with debris.
As test, try without filter. Does it work? Replace with new filter. I prefer to use small VW Bug style filter. Buy 10 for about U$D 2.00 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-...846566568.html |

UPDATE
The problem was the spark plug, the mechanic says the problem was the spark, because i put irridium spark plugs cr8eix, and the mechanic told me, that irridium spark plugs are bad for the ninja because the bikes are "old" and the mechanic put a normal spark plug and the bike work fine |
