Do the most thorough detail you can, when you get it home. The salt and chemicals will eat your bike up.

Wax the bike real good. The worst thing is what is will do to you chain and sprocket so make sure you clean and lube, clean and lub, clean and lub...

Don't be afraid to take it to the $.50 car wash (gues there like $1.00 or more now. Good clean water rinse. Becareful of the chain. Don't hit that with the pressure hose. I used to ride in upstate NY... did a little of the winter stuff but I used to wash and clean the bike like weekly... used GUNK on EVERYTHING, including the chorme and paint. Rinsed it off with cold water. Worked Great! and then I would clean and lube, clean and lube, clean and lube... (only did it once if I wasn't riding in the rain or snow)

Noted! I can't wait to buy a scott oiler!! Then I won't have to worry about the chain as much! Plus from everything I've read, they last much longer with a scottoiler installed!

Just a little update for those that care.

With the 2-3 inches of snow we got this morning and afternoon, the bike shop closed early before I got off work. Which was fine with me, I didn't even want to drive in the stuff, so I wasn't riding in it!

I did give them some money over the phone (through debit card), so now I'm not worried about it at all.

Bad news is they closed early today, and they aren't open again until Wednesday...

Good new is, I have off Thursday and it's supposed to be nice out. Cold, but nice! So I think I'll pick it up Wednesday morning, and then have all day thursday to get acquainted with my new best mate!

And yes don't worry, I am well aware of riding in cold weather. I have plenty of cold weather clothing from hunting for 10 years. I also know about the windchill factor and how speed effects the temperature that you're feeling quite significantly.

Don't worry! I maybe be new to ridding, but I've been obsessed for years. So I do know some things. Not a lot, but enough to not be completely retarded.

Haha hopefully! That's the plan I wish I had a POV camera to film the ride home. Well actually it'll be the ride to work. Haha. Which kinda sucks, 20 minute ride, then work until it's dark... haha I'm not gonna be very excited for work that day...

ACF50 is the best for anti corrosion, bar none.

I will do an install vid for the scottoiler on my ninja 250 when I get it in the post, my mum said she'd got me one for christmas off my amazon wish list but avoided the notes section saying "THIS IS THE ACCESSORY!! DUAL INJECTOR, NEEDS MAIN PART SCOTTOILER V SYSTEM ALSO IN LIST, DO NOT BUY WITHOUT MAIN PART!!!" so I got the dual injector and a tub of oil..... Ordered the vsystem and it should be here this week.

I recently bought the 09 SE and I wasn't a big fan of the green either but not he's so purdy! I bough this jacket and it matches my bike perfectly. Plus, I haven't seen another one like it out here.

lol I just meant the color. I don't think I've ever seen a straight green moto Jacket. Normally you get the standard, Black, grey, red, white, blue. Maybe a yellow thrown in there or an orange every once in a while.

Yeah, it's new. I LOVE IT! I actually had a high-viz first gear jacket but it was way to big so I sent it back and got this one.

I have a high-viz helmet. I didn't want to give anyone a reason to say they couldn't see me. Much more visible. This jacket is still pretty bright tho...here's my helmet.

I like the looks of Icon's hi-viz mil spec vests. Comfortable, pockets, and don't feel like a construction worker.

You have no idea mate. I am not a patient person at all! You're talking to a Guy that spends 80 dollars a year to have Amazon prime because I need everything like next day. This is starting to kill me. But I've waited this long, another day wont hurt. But I better be able to get it Wednesday. If that isn't the case, I will be very very sad. Lol.

So go to the dealership at around 12, they started the bike for me and then I went to sign all the papers. The guy took me out, explained everything about the bike and then inside he went. I geared up, and home I road! Almost 30 miles in like 25 degree weather... it was a little cold! I need new gloves :/ So yup, we made it home safe and sound, still haven't thought of a name yet, but that will come! haha

These aren't the best pics I know, but it's freaking cold outside!!

And yes I know, gear. lol But I wasn't originally planning on getting a bike until spring, so I fell a little behind. I'm working on the pants and boots. Hopefully this weekend
