I'm glad the manual points out the headlight thing...
I would have felt like a real tool bringing it in to get that checked.

It's actually one of the things I don't like about my baby. When I get the time and bits, I'll be changing that, not sure how yet but it will be done. May have to split each 'eyeball' into two so I can get the direction right.

If someone says that to me, I'll tell them that it's a Ninja so it can't help but wink at you.

The one headlight thing is always something that has bothered me. I believe the first time I remember seeing this was on a yamaha. I couldn't help but think wtf were they thinking. To me, it looks horrible, but it does help the bike stand out.

I'd be surprised if someone did find the 250R high-beam too bright during the day time. It's probably a good idea keeping it on. You get increased visibility to other drivers and more importantly: symmetry! Though... now that Firehorse has pointed out, that the Ninjette is winking, I think I quite like it on low beam

Did your Ninjette blush? (a few misfires and momentary increase in brightness of all the lights on the bike )

I was driving around a 2000 Hyundai Elantra one night when a car in front of me started slowing down until it got ridiculous and he just stopped. A big muscular dude got out, walked up to my car, and then barked "Mind turning your brights off, dog?!" at which point, I clicked them ON and kept driving (they were off).

LOL! A ducati??? I'm still learning to tell bikes apart on the fly but nothing else really sounds like a Ducati so that's funny. I would have done the same.

I used to hate the sound of my ninja but now I've decided it sounds like a Nazgul and Nazguls are cool. Scream away, baby!

My plan was to buy a power kit the like what Goldwing users have for their coolers, heat suits, radios, back massagers etc...and just replace the guts, putting in two bulbs, one in a socket in the top half and one in a lower socket in the lower half of the housing. That would take the entire entire headlight wiring system off the main battery and work off the auxiliary battery. I would have to install an OFF switch and remember to turn them on during daylight.

Maybe that link would be a less complicated answer? Thank you It's a good write up!

Depending on how low and throaty your exhaust is, you can get the same pitch as a ducati out of our bikes, but the tone is a lot different, and they sound completely different since ours is a parallel twin and not a vtwin or an L-twin, but I'll give those guys credit for at least recognizing the difference between an I4 and a twin. I mean I personally won't complain if someone thinks I'm riding a lime green Ducati that I bought for under 2k

Mine is not low or throaty at all, it's stock and kind of screams since the idle is not happy - another thread...
Yup, no complaints, it's an awesome Ducati....! lol

I like that people say "Don't ya think you should have started on a smaller bike, like a 250 or something?"

Really? You get questions like THAT?
People usually ask me, "Don't you think you should have started on a larger bike, like a 600 or something?"

I'm not very big so maybe I look small on it? But also I don't know anyone who rides so they don't know bikes at all. It feels really big compared to the 125 cbr I trained on. But it feels about the same as the BMW gs650 I sat on?
The Suzuki Gladius felt huge compared to the ninja but I think it's because the gas tank was similar in size to a small elephant.

That's the way I felt when I sat on friend's BMW 1200RS yesterday. He also had the hard case saddlebags too, so it kinda looked like a baby elephant.

I've never had that happen. A few people ask if it can get out of its' own way. A few people congratulate me on being smart and buying the most fun bike ever as my first bike. you know, the usual stuff

Ah, I see. Like mine can't be a kwaka cos it's not green, got that before.

Funny that most of my house has that nice kawi green as accents. Even my oven mitts are kawi green and that was long before the bike was even thought of. Must have been in my head somewhere before I actually made the decision lol!

Sublimal messages via Kawasaki. I'm sure they own the company that made the oven mitts.

The best comment i ever got was from a friend, an experienced rider who just bought a new HD. He and another friend, Paul just got 2 ,$18k + Glides
He took the 250 up and down the highway, came back and stomped off the bike and says to me
How much was this?
$3600 i replied.
Where's Paulie ?
I'm gonna kick Paulie's ass for tellin' me to buy that POS I got for $18000.

Just got lectured between classes here at UNLV by some middleaged gentleman. He asked if that was my helmet sitting right next to me and I said yes. Then he went on to talk about how dangerous it is and that the average life expectancy of a 19 year old motorcyclist in California is 25 or 26 (I forget what he said) and then he asked me to vote for him as he's running for some congress position and he said he's going to try to limit the age requirement to ride to 21 He meant well, he didn't slam motorcyclists as a whole, and he understood that it's not our fault for being so hard to see which leads to accidents. He just doesn't want to see people go to waste. I still thought it was pretty funny. Oh and he's a democrat by the way! He was sure to be very clear about that. Afterwards we got into a good military discussion though, he was a lieutenant commander in the Navy and he recognized that I was Air Force as I'm still in my Air Force PTU's which was cool.

@csmith12: lmao: you're kidding right?!... despite both bikes being side by side

@eddiekay: that comment your friend made highlights how stupid riders are that are dismissive and negative about the ninjette just-because it has a 250CC engine.

A guy at work told me last week: "You wait: you'll want a real sports bike soon."
* sigh *

Yea, left is a 110 front, mine on the right has a 120 front. Both have 140's on the back. Both have stock windscreen, she just painted hers.
