250J carb ???

My 08 is having some carb problems, I believe there is a peice of sand clogging up one of the jets. I'll be riding and it'll choke and sputter out like it's out of gas, so I drop 2 or 3 gears and pop the clutch and she will come back alive from sloshing of the gas. My question being, I'm trying to find a jet kit, but all I see is jet kits for the 250R, can I use this jet kit or are they different carbs? Any suggestions on where to get a kit?

I suggest you first six the original problem, before diving into a jet kit.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue, could be vapor locking, bad petcock, clogged fuel filter, etc....

Get it running right first before you start messing with stuff.

Why do you think you need a jet kit? Any mods to the bike?

Have you looked inside the tank for rust?

A significant amount of condensation in the tank could also do what you described.

I agree with Ghostt. Don't do any carb/jetting mods right now, just solve the major problem before changing things.

Sounds like the small pilot circuits are clogged. These have very small passages that can stop flowing at the slightest hint of lint!!! Really should take out the carbs and inspect. If you can't clear it up with spray-cleaners, send it off to Ducatiman to get a real good cleaning. And rebuild if necessary.

The 250J is the 250R.

Look at ebay or jetsrus.

Doesn't the 250 have the same tank vent issue as the 500?

Could that be at play here?

EX250R= "Ninja 250"
EX250F= "Pregen Ninja 250"
EX250J= "Newgen Ninja 250"

Weird, right?

I know the PreGen does, it uses the exact same cap, I'm not sure the NewGen does, but knowing Kawasaki I'm sure it's similar.

I have a write-up on the cap vent fix, if needed. but it's for the PreGen, but I'm sure it might apply here re as well.
