How to GP-shift?

Are there any guides and photos on how to flip the shifter on newgen?
I take it you have to hack off a part of the sprocket-guard/cage just above to flip it?
Does anyone sell a modified sprocket-guard/cage with a recess in it for the flipped gear-changer?

Thanks.

I just did mine a month ago. Did it all with a hacksaw and a file. Pretty easy job really.

The pregens are fairly easy too, but I had to cut and re-weld the lever on the transmission shaft to change its angle a little. Now I can flip from backwards, clumsy shifting for guests to 1 up and 5 down in about 3 minutes. No other changes are needed.

I'm pretty sure you have to take the transmission apart and put in back together completely opposite of how it was.

Might me easier to just flip the entire engine!
