2014 Koso Group Buy!
Hey guys,
Jordan here from Racetech Electric with some new group buy information for any of you interested in upgrading the dash on your 2nd gen 250s! The last group buy went rather smoothly so we are going to use the same system. The only thing that has changed is price. The Price of a complete RX2/RX2N kit including the adapter board, wiring harness and an LED voltmeter is going to come out to $360 shipped. This price includes all of the hardware needed to swap out that old mechanical gauge set and shipping costs to the US. All packages will be shipped via USPS priority mail. The parts will be coming to us from Koso in Canada, so we need to get a good number of people interested before we place our order. The time frame for shipment at the end of this group buy is going to be about 2 weeks long. We have to wait for the parts to be shipped to the US from Canada and then we can package the kits and send them to you. The link to buy the package will go live when we reach 5+ buyers http://racetechelectric.com/i-937735...voltmeter.html Evan had made this wonderful install video of this kit in case you guys need help or just want to see what you would be getting into. http://youtu.be/G8PS6U-bRj4 **new info** I have confirmation that Koso will input odo mileage, so if you're interested in this group buy we will collect mileage info for all the orders.

How long are you going to run the group buy and when will you require payment?
We get to choose between the gauge style? What rpm are they? Will we have the option for mileage to be input into the odo? |

RPM range = 0-15K RPM in increments of 100 and a shift light programmable from 5K-15K RPM No option to input mileage but if i remember correctly, there is a thread on this forum for a pretty easy way to add up the mileage on the new odo. I believe it involved an electric fan. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like on this thread. You can also send me PMs or emails @ jordan@racetechelectric.com

I'd like to see it filled to the minimum 5 orders by April 4th but am willing to negotiate if there are a few interested people that need to wait another week or two.

I'm really interested but my bike is a street bike. Since you're getting the gauges from Koso, there's no way we could have them put mileage put in the odo?

1. Put magnets on a fan instead. 2. Set up pickup in front of fan as if it were a wheel. 3. Power gauge from an automotive battery or DC 12v source. 4. Set gauge to expect one magnet per wheel revolution with the largest selectable tire size but use all six magnets so that it considers one revolution of the fan to be six of a large tire. 5. Run fan overnight at max speed. 6. Come back and curse when you realize that your fan has racked up 3x as many miles as you've actually ridden and you need to keep running it until it turns over at the maximum mileage. 7. Rinse and repeat. As far as I know there is no way to program in the mileage.

@RaceTech Electric, Jordan, when Evan did the last group buy, I contacted Koso themselves since I had 13k on the bike and didn't feel like doing the fan that long. Here's what I heard back from Koso:

Thanks Nevada Wolf! I guess we should start a buyers list with name and mileage so I can get that all set up.

If any of you are on the fence about buying a Koso, I would like to encourage you to go ahead and take the plunge. The stock speedo on my 2010 250R read 8 MPH high at freeway speed. I had to use my GPS to keep from speeding. Also, the many additional features of the Koso are not just cool, they are very useful. I love having 2 trip meters, I use one for the trip and one for the fuel tank. The Koso has been the single best improvement that I have made to my bike.

Ditto,
Having an accurate speedometer and odometer plus a clock has really helped knowing my long rides were what I was claiming them to be. The mounting plate has room on either side of the gauge if you like adding switches, indicator lights, accessory ports, or gizmos. And if you planning on adding anything electrical to your bike, the voltmeter alone is worth having as a visual indicator of your battery's condition. This is a good buy and these folks are great to work with!

I've been wanting to pick one of these up for years, but waiting to see if there's better availability of the custom bezel, as mentioned in this thread:
http://www.kawiforums.com/ninja-250r...oso-meter.html Seems this part is hard to find nowadays |
