You all know me, but how much do you REALLY know me?! My forum-supplied name has been changed from "JET" to "J.Emmett." Time for a reintroduction so I don't have to explain the name change elsewhere.

When I moved to San Diego in 2008, I thought it was a good time to ditch being pointlessly called by my middle name, Emmett, because almost no one else was in the habit of calling me that there. I couldn't go to my first name because I was living with my sister who knew that as my father's name, like everyone else in the family (precisely why I was always called "Emmett"). Because my twin brother was no longer around, I figured that I could now exclusively use a nickname we always shared back home: JET (derived from us having the same initials). Most everyone in our circle of friends just called us each "twin" though (no reason to figure out which was which

) but, even if I liked it, that wasn't going to work with a bunch of people who never saw my twin brother on the other side of the country.

Being back in GA now, I'm forced back to "Emmett," so I'm changing it here too before I confuse anyone else. "JET" never really caught on there either because my sister never cooperated!
