Soo, I was thinking, now that I've proved myself the be a mid-pack sloth, any chance the brethren would let me run both races? (I know, I know,Tiff et al. will hate me for even askin). . .

Its hard not gettin' shitfaced drunk every day at like 11 am when you only have one race a day and your sittin in the desert. . . . mebbe its too early to be practical about it?

I would let you run both races, but know that if you ran a 250 SS race and it mattered with regards to points for me and overall placing for the 250 SS season, I would protest you in a snap.

Not sure who else feels/would do the same.

+1, but I don't think you would have enough 300 riders to support you Joel. I don't think non 250/300 riders have a say for your petition IMO.

Yeah, I understand the points issue, and would agree to forfeit any points, as they mean nothing to me. I know there's not enough 300's out there to grid a SS, and honestly I don't mind having just one race a day, but just thought I'd ask.

After thinking about it, I might well kill the issue for now, and wait to see what shows up next season, since its the break anyway, and not worth the drama of discussion.

The sad thing is that if I were faster, it would be an issue. . . I think I have 4 or 5 races total now under my belt, so I'm just glad to be out there, and stoked you guys have accepted me (not in the nutsack punching way, but I'm good wid that too ;-)

I'll see if I survive 'till next year, and hopefully more 300's will show up. I keep bringing the SV out, and not racing it, 'cuz it fooks me up too much switching back and forth.

If I ever get fast enough to get protested, I'll consider it a compliment. For now, I'll just roll the ULWS and get my drink on that much earlier. Disregard my earlier poast.

I feel for you about showing all the way up from San Diego County to just do 1 race a day. I know that I would not race CVMA if it was only one race a day.

Points matter somewhat to me after seeing the awards banquet and amateurs winning, so personally I am trying for a top amateur overall spot. Each race weekend though I would like to have a dice with someone or try to hang on to a fast guy to learn something. If I can't then I just try to shoot for a new PR.

So you totally have my sympathy for wanting to race more than just once a day.

An SV650 and Ninja 250 are two different animals so of course you'll be thrown off. I think you're in a fork in the road and need to determine whether you want to race SV650 or Ninja 250. Of course you can do both but I think you would benefit overall if you just focus on a machine dedicated for racing.

In terms of track time for racing, I think the SV is the way to go. However in terms of skills transferring over, I think the 300 would be the better way to go. I know when I rode Jonathon's 250s and hopped on my D675 I immediately went faster.

I thought you were racing the 300 in other non-250 classes (you know you're allowed, right?) as well as racing the SV. Didn't know you were just racing one. Shoot Joel, it's the last race of the season so come race in the 250 SS.

Personally, I think the 250 SS class will inevitably become a 300 SS class...that is if more peeps with 300s would race. I blame Kawi for the lack of showing. $5K for a 34HP bike is way too expensive to convert & race. But that's neither here or there.

So for the time being I for one wouldn't mind if YOU on your 300 raced in the 250 SS class. Now, if you lent your bike to any of the front runners I'd protest in a heart beat.

But like D said make it legit and get a petition signed or better yet talk to Dustin/Jay and see what they say.

So far in ULWS I've usually ended up with plenty of space around me, usually chasing Matt, but I'm sure there's others on my ass too. But as I said, its not worth debating now, I'll see how the grids look in Sept and go from there.

Well, on a BBQ you can make them really easily just by throwing veggies and various marinated meats on. I don't think we need to try to get all crazy with lamb.. Steak and chicken and veggies works well.

You see, if D WERE doing it, I believe his shopping list would look a lil bit like this:

-Sweet Maui onions or Vidalia or other sweet onion
- Fresh mint
- parsley
- Garlic cloves
-Black Cerignola Olives
-Sweet Pimenton Paprika
- Zucchini
- Tomatoes (Grape or Plum Tomatoes & Large Tomatoes)
- Bell pepper
- Portabella mushrooms
- Dry bread crumbs
- Boneless skinless chicken breast
- Ground sirloin
- Metal skewers (wooden ones break too easy)

I don't know that my cooler is going to be good enough to keep meat for very long, but if we're going more hawaiian and less middle east, I could bring teriyaki sauce/BBQ sauce/pineapples/wood skewers? Or if someone has a better cooler I can transfer stuff to so it doesn't go bad, I could bring the chicken instead of pineapple?
