Ninja 250 Build

So I would like to ask you guys a question.

I have the opportunity to buy a 250 that doesn't run. The current owner says they bought it for parts, but never used it for anything. They also say they don't have the title, so that does concern me a little. It looks like most of the bike is there except for a couple of plastics. The owner says the engine is crap, but I should be able to fix it most likely, right? So since you guys are the experts, here is a picture of it. I would like to know if it is worth $300.

Thanks in advance

unless you feel comfortable putting in a new engine and possibly everything else also I'd pass.

Besides, that picture looks like not a ninja 250... Fairing is different. Front wheel is different. Frame is different. Grab bar is different. Fender is different. Tank is different. etc etc

Looks like an old Ninja 600R to me.

Even if you were getting it for free, the title thing can be a real hassle. A friend of mine went through the bonded title process on one of his cafe bikes and said never again. It's expensive and takes time.

So the title thing was my main concern, but it's good to hear that the rest isn't really worth it either. I appreciate your opinions. I'll definitely pass on the bike.

Step away quickly...it's obvious they are trying to unload this turd. Plus it's not a Ninja 250, it's an EX500/GPz500 (other countries).
