What's wrong with my intake valves? (pics)

My Ninja's intake valves don't look too good. Sorry I've got a smudge on my camera lens, but you can see it looks like one of my bike's valves is all bent and has chips all around it.

Is this something I should do myself or have a bike shop fix it?

Heat it up and bend it back, shouldn't be a problem

Well what did everyone think "250" meant? It's a 250 cubic foot engine.

Don't fix it.....get a new one. It'll always be weak.

Not quite that large...I believe this is from a a 117-liter engine (7,000 cubic inches, ~4 cubic feet)

how much for the bent valve? Super cool piece in the shop conversation...what broke to let the piston hit the valve? gotta have one hell of a timing chain. I would almost suspect direct gear driven. don't know a ton about those turbo diesels though.

My dad worked at Cordero Mine in WY for about 17 years. I got to see the aftermath of some interesting accidents involving these trucks during that time. Someone lost control of one on a ramp and laid it on its side. Someone else backed over a company pickup with one. They're big mean machines, unless it's icy or muddy, at which time they become completely helpless. They're not much fun to handle when they're overloaded either.
