I got hit back in January. I found a decent fairing in another color (no problem since I was repainting anyway) after about three months for what I considered a reasonable price, ~$180 shipped. It took four and a half months to find a tank for under $200. I had a few people offer to sell me those parts for almost what new parts (or a good used bike) would cost, but they were just flippers and speculators.

I scoured local and regional craigslist ads daily, as well as here and over on the ninja250.org forums every chance I could. I eventually found the fairing on ninja250.org and the tank came off ebay. I'd bid on several tanks in those months but every single one went over $275-300, far more than I was willing to pay, until I finally got one.

This is prime riding season so parts will probably be even more scarce than usual. It's not likely you'll find parts in your original color; it may actually be more cost effective to purchase an entire bike to get plastics all in one color, then sell off parts to make up the cost of buying the bike.
