Politicians vs. celebrities

I'm pretty much annoyed with the world today...surprise surprise!

Are politicians suppose to be running a country or rubbing elbows with celebrities? I was watching the news this morning and it was said that Jennifer Lopez was invited to go to the white house on sunday to watch super bowl with the president...really? Doesn't the president have better things to do then hang out with Jennifer Lopez watching a game? Yes they are human, but it seems that politicians these days are more concerned about their popularity then really looking at the issues at hand in this country. You have people like Oprah and Brad Pitt hanging out with politicians so they can get votes. Its such BS!!! We don't elect people in certain positions in our congress based on their experiance, or their ability to do something better for this country, we elect based on who looks best on TV and which celebrity they hang out with. In my opinion, this country is doomed!

Well, If Sarah Palin got her way we would have a President who quit her job as Governor so she could have her own reality show... not to mention Bristol Palin and the Dancing with the stars thing.

I just watched that show Brad Meltzer's Decoded. They did a piece on the “Bohemian Grove". Talk about a bunch of über wealthy people, celebrities and politicians rubbing elbows for two weeks in the woods... It was an interesting episode.

I'd watch a football game with J Lo

Yeah I agree it's total B.S. and it's sad that people really don't base judgement anymore on the facts.

(well most people).

It's really funny when shows go out and ask people who they are voting for and bring up items the person they are voting for is against (without telling them that) and they say "Yeah that sounds like a great idea."

But really, think about it, who the hell is JLO to be hanging with such a powerful man? the chick sings and acts..c'mon!!! We put these f'ing celebrities on such a high pedistal...they are regular people that have a unique career. does that give them the golden pass to go in the white house? I think NOT!

What about politicians who are celebrities? Do they get to hang out with their celeb friends or is this just a rant on the latest obama? Don't get me wrong, I think the guy spends more time playing around than actually doing a thing, but when you're a puppet, what else can you do?

Not to compare Obama to JFK or JLO to Marilyn Monroe, but maybe this is his thing? Does JLO play basketball?

Well, They are already working on getting themselves re-elected. There are a precious few politicians that I would want to spend any time with.

Poor J Lo. She is going to have a boring Supa Bowl.

Oh yea, she was invited because she has one of the best getto booties.

I feel the same way lmao. I also like how celebrities get free passes to dumb crap and get a slap on the wrist. Any of us get a DUI or beat someone down that equals a long period of jail time. For them its like "oh, well thats okay. you'll spend a couple nights in county and be right back out"

I invited J Lo and Steven Tyler to my house for the super bowl. They said they would only come if Randy Jackson could come. I am still considering it.

Amen brotha! Like lohen, now the crazy dumbass has charges against her for beating up the nurse at the rehab center, cuz she got caught coming in late after being out drinking. Then she was caught stealing a $5000 necklace...

There should be some sort of petition against these celebrities...i'm so sick of their stupid actions not having any consequences.

Speaking as a guy, there are few things better than rubbing 'elbows' with Jennifer Lopez.

You're a funny guy. Rubbing 'elbows', yea right. I can see it now. Don't worry Jenn, it's just my 'elbow' rubbing against you. What did you think I had a gun in my pocket?

I totally disagree. JLo does not act. Have you not seen Gigli/Jersey Girl/Wedding Planner, etc., etc.?

I was quite shocked when I saw that episode that Obama was in it. He told them to retest the myth that you can set a boat(was it a boat?) on fire with a bunch of focused mirrors. It was busted the first time they did and it was busted the second time they did it. That whole episode I was like why are you doing the same myth again, when it easily was busted the first time.

This is why in almost every country the very brightest citizens work elsewhere. Politics is a joke.

If you do your job well enough you shouldn't have to worry about being reelected.

Not so sure it is the individual--more like it is the Party Machine. They move you up, and you pay back. Very sad.
