Carb Question

Hey guys,

New here, looking for a little help, figured I'd try some experts!

Anyway, quick question. Have a 2006 Ninja 250 that has sat for a couple years and wanna get it up and running again and probably sell it. Tires, chain and cables all to be checked and lubed, gas drained, and I want to clean/rebuild the carbs. So that brings me to my question...

Every carb rebuild kit I see is for up to 2005 250's, the 2006 isn't listed. Is the older rebuild kit compatible, or does anybody know where to source a kit for a 2006? Just wanna double check before I order anything...

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks everybody,
Scott

Welcome, Scott !!!

I don't believe that you need any kit to refurbish those carbs.

All models between 1986 and 2007 are the same.

Use this as a guide for the work:

Hey, thanks, its been sitting a while and just wanted to have the parts on hand as a back up...

But now my new problem, hopefully it will get attention without starting a new thread:

Working on it now, went to drain the oil, and it came spewing out, and is more gas than oil.... what likely failed and what can be done about this? Should I flush with oil a few times before trying to run the bike?

Any help, PLEASE! hahah...

Upon further research could be a number of problems coming, possibly from the carbs, so good thing I got the rebuild kits! We'll see once I get them pulled apart!

The fuel in oil most likely was due to the floats sticking in the carbs and dumping raw fuel to the intake side....
