Neutral count as a gear?

So my bike is geared (1,N,2,3,4,5). If there is supposed to be a 6 in there I've got a problem. If not sorry for the stupid question.

neutral is not a gear, it is a flat spot on the shift star point.

there should be 6 gears.

I'm not sure how it's possible but I don't think I have a 6th gear.

Oil was just changed no problems. Bike was kind of beat up when I got it but runs alright now. It shifts no problem so I'm kind of at a loss. Would sprocket size effect this? The bike was modded a bit before I got it so maybe with the current gear ratio setup I'm actually not going fast enough for 6th?

Can you engage 6 by rotating the rear tire back and forth by hand and manipulating the shifter?

It's okay, you're allowed to use your second hand to count gears.

Yup. First thing I'd do is put it up on a centerstand, start it in neutral, and start the engine. Put it in first (by pressing down), then carefully clicking up by hand through the other 5 gears.

I'll give it a try but how would this be any different then just taking it on the highway?

you can focus on how many times you clicked it instead of focusing on driving your bike

:if ya count neutral, you might as well count that 7th gear we've ALL gone after at some time or another.
