He's also got less pressure in his tires for a little more footprint. But yeah, decent roadie tires are pretty grippy.

I'm more impressed by how the frame, hubs, and rims held up to the abuse. That's a carbon frame and carbon rims. Those are not made with trials abuse in mind.

I've always thought of road bikes as tanks, my older brother crashed one almost a decade ago racing a friend downhill. I don't know how fast he was going but I do know he was flying and that he still has the bike today.

Note that the rays (spokes) are working only under tension, as the rings hangs from the centers (hubs).

Great video, Chone !!!

I'm more impressed by the fine sense of balance of the cycler.

Yeah, roadie frames are pretty solid, but if you scratch the paint off of carbon frame and expose the carbon, it can wear and fray and generally ruin the frame. That's why I'd be nervous with a carbon MTB or crashing a carbon roadie.

As for the wheels, well, the rims are carbon, those can crack. Also, bashing them like that will mess up all your spoke tensions/wheel true. I bet he had that bike gone over very intensely by a mechanic after doing all this fun stuff.

Impacts like this are huge amounts of impulse applied at places (admittedly they ARE pretty beefy, but still) like the head tube and bottom bracket. These aren't downhill or trials bikes, they're not intended for huge amounts of landings. Poor bike. Still very impressed. I can do the track stand and bike-hop thing, but not on one wheel. I'm attempting to do the high bunny-hops, but I'm having a hell of a time getting my head around how to get higher than about a foot.

Looks like our friend Guy Martin had some learning to do from bicycles as well. Can't understand a word that guy says.

Yes . All that without any protective gear? Not sure if that's more badass or stupid, but cool video nonetheless

Incredible balance. I do have to wonder how many wheel sets he went through to make those videos.

Saw the Road Bike Party 2 video today for the first time. It was posted on Guy Martin's FB fan page. I was just about to share it here but of course choneofakind discovered it before me. Good thing I searched.

I was very impressed. Never thought I'd see a road bike do the things that are done in that video. Haha.
