turn signal tail light mod help plz

I have a 2006 ninja 250 and think the black fender is ugly. I would like to turn the empty tail lights into the turn signals. Any one have any experience they can share?

Use this as a guide. Basically, just get two of the sockets mentioned in the article, mount them into the pods, and there you go! Some states will require amber lenses, which are available on eBay, and some may require the necessary 8-9" distance between the signals.

As far as the fender goes, just cut it, but be sure to leave the license plate mount and light at the very least. If your concerned about keeping it legal your gonna have to keep the red reflectors as well, at least the rear one, if not all.

If needed I can provide pictures showing different stages of modifying the fender. Save your money and don't but a fender eliminator kit.


SIDENOTE: I have tried both the smoke and clear lens kit, I decided to keep them clear, as the others lens on the bike were clear as well, and matched the color scheme of the bike IMHO.
